You will hAVE to remove the cowl to see if the wiper linkage has come off the motor itself remove the wipers then the covers that sit below them to see if it came undone let us know from there

SOURCE: rear wiper will not work

There are no relays in the back door that i know of, however it sounds like the gearbox in the wiper motor has broken. if there is power to the plug and a good earth, then its got to be the motor. just one thing to check.. make sure the wiper arm is tight on the spindle. I have seen them come loose and give the impression the motor isnt working, could also explain clicking noise.

You might have a bad wiper motor, you can try checking for voltage at the wiper motor connector, if your getting voltage at the connector replace the wiper motor.

check to see if you have corrosion in the fuse box or the GEM module, by removing the fuse box completely, disconnect the battery, take out the two screws and two 8mm bolts that hold the fuse box in, it will take some maneuvering to get it positioned right to disconnect the two wiring harnesses from the fuse box, they are bolted through the middle. Once removed, take the GEM module off the back of the fuse box and look for what would be something like the same corrosion you would see on your battery posts, usually one of these components is corroded and causing the problem, my buddy got a replacement fuse box for his from a wrecking yard for only 15 dollars, with all the fuses and relays. If you have this corrosion, then you probably have a windshield leak at the lower left hand corner of the windshield, it lets water drip onto the fuse box and GEM module. Hope this helps, let me know

My windshield wipers stopped working in my 2002 altima
Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. First, since both wipers are not working, you need to check your fuse. If the fuse is good, listen to hear if you can hear the wiper motor running. If it is not, you need a new motor. If you hear noise, the motor may be stripped. If nothing is still happening, you probably have a bad wire in that harness. Your wiper switch may be bad as well. Wipers wont work on any speed fuses are good replaced motor all linkages are connected just here clicking noise from behind dash when I work the switch
it is probably a bad relay if you hear clicking in the dash. listen for the sound, its probably in the kick panel.

I have a 2000 mercury cougar and my back wiper works but my front wipers doesn't
check fuses. both wipers use a different fuse. If you hear noise when you turn on the wipers but they wont work, it usually means that your wiper mecheanism has come off the motor or the motor needs to be replaced

Windshield wipers dont work
Fuse # 5 in your panel should be a 20amp fuse, which provides power to wipers. Not 100% sure, but would bet there is a relay in that circuit before motor. Try to feel/hear, exactly where clicking is coming from. It is usually easy to simply narrow the click noise area down, then set finger lightly on relays, and feel it when it clicks. Pull it out & have tested or replace.
