Engine replacement gone bad. Engine cranks-starter engages-but no fire. Does computer have to match replacement? Orig was Atkinson model, replacement ? If theres a mismatch what might be symptoms? Starter cranks no fire. Used to startblk a motorcycle. Codes incl u2030, p0729, p0606, p1a0c, p1a1d, p2104... "...---..."
You will need to go to a dealer for a re flash on the PCM if you have changed it out
it turns but no fire. so starter is actuating but its not catching for the cylinders to fire. i think tht the Atkinson engine computer i hv kept is in conflict w the reman engine provided. i did a read abt the computer in a given engine may not be correct for the eng installled. we r goin crazy w ths. i appreciate all comenters be advised itsa hybrid. ive ownedvit since new. i just dont get it. i did evrythg trblshooters sed and ford. they wont guarantee an outcome. im babbling and n the middl of this. does the replacement eng hv to spec up to current serv bullitens or does a replacement engine just hv to spec up to mfg new specs? if so, doesnt the remanufacturer hv to spec up or at least declare? the problem is tht a renan engine may conform tomorig specs but fail in the subsequent notices of the manufacturer. who subsequently incrementally their deficiency across service bulliitans or other letters to owners.
I think the essence was relayed. irrespective of this, my question still stands does a remanufactured engine hv to conform to tne latest engine spec incl all serv notifications or tech docs? or is a reman engine an engine tht cfms to tne orig specs? i can tell u from an aerospace engineer standard, tht any reman part must conform to the current faa and mfg reqs. so im in the question....

take the negative side off the battery put the car on ramps secure the rear end so it does not roll and if you need a diagram for removing and installing the starter try autozone
