Whether starting with remote or manually, car beeps twice, then flashes twice, beeps twice then flashes twice and this continues in a consistent fashion (even while driving) until the car is turned off. What flashes is the dash lights, the clock lights and the shift lights all at the same time. We are 2nd owner. It has a remote starter and alarm. We have only one remote, labeled Ultra. Thank you for your help. We tried to pull a code but it does not show anything.
This is usually a good situation to bring to alarm shop and have them take it out and see if you can just keep the remote start or it might need a new brain on the alarm system
Testimonial: "Jeremiah Roies Rocks! I Took Out The Remote Receiver from inside the car and everything is (appears) normal again. I don't need no stinkin' remote starter ... or do I, brrrrr baby it's cold out there. Lack of funds necessitates leaving it disconnected until we have funds to fix. THANK YOU JEREMIAH and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!"

If the key is returning to the 'Run' position as it should, then either a relay controlling the solenoid or the solenoid itself is hanging up. The heavy contacts that send power to the starter can develop rough surfaces that can temporarily weld themselves together causing the starter to run on even though the engine is running and the key has returned to the proper position. There is also a spring that should normally help return the solenoid's contacts to their 'off' position that may be weakened.

Does your key have a chip on it? If it does its probably the problem

i had the same exact problem...reading thru other listings of the same problem i came across one solution that worked for me.....by holding the trip odometer reset button down and holding it in while turning the ignition switch to the on position ...all lights on dash will light up and the tach and speedometer gauges will make a full sweep the back down codes come up in the window ..turn ignition switch on and off and reset something , everthing ,....anyway my truck starts again ...thanks for the solution to my problem !
