90 dodge shadow starts but wont run

It starts most of the time but immediately dies after
sometimes acts like its dead but is not
i have a volt meter and checked battery usually at 12.74
drops to 10 when starting (normal)
when it acts like it is dead unhooking positive and reconecting usually solves it
or tightening the cables (that i didnt get tight enough before)
but still has inter mittent problem with acting like its dead
i believe this is a bad connection somewhere havent nailed that down yet
when it does act live the engine will start
but dies right after every time
every now and then it will run after vigorous jiggling of wires and will start and run for that day but next day(when you think it might be fixed)
it is broke again
thought it might be wiring harness found some of the sensor wire melted together (pulled them apart)
it started then
but then next day is broke
tested each wire from sensors to wiring harness all seem to have connectivity
every time i jiggled wiring harness (to sensors)
it seemed to work (every now and then)
but with connectivity how can that be right?
you can keep it started if you are goosing the peddle from nothing to 3/4 but at full it boggs down
while goosing it runs but you let off it dies
have tried unplugging sensors no result
have tracked wiring harness no result
have replaced fuel pressure regulator no result
have replaced fuel filter no result
have checked all easily reachable voltage connections pos and neg
all have connectivity(cant reach starter easily only major connect not checked but it does start so do i need to?)
i have thought it might be a relay or switch.....
i think mabea not starting problem and not running problem might be connected?
mabea not
i am grasping at straws at this point
have gotten codes from unplugging things buti cleared them by unhooking battery for 15 min
and then rechecking older codes are cleared some come back
right now codes are
12 battery been disconnected
23 forget but have checked before
25 not sure about
41 dont know if ive researched
and 55 end of code
HELP PLEASE
when it does work its out of the blue when trying to start it repeatedly
and it runs for the day
have thought it was from touching something but i dont know what to think now

well i dont think its the starter because it does start.....

    guess i could be wrong

i dont think its the altenator because it does charge!

    could be wrong

    timing....ehhhh i am hesitant

the car does start and RUN

    but only occasionally

and ity will drive down the road

    for a time

then all of a sudden you go to start it and it wont STAY running

you hear the initial usual starter noise over motor turning over

hear it kick and rev like it would and under normal conditions keep running

but after the kick it dies

one person said injector might be bad or at least the seal?

just pulled it out seal "looks good" but you never know?

its either fuel, voltage, or sensor related i think

    the problem is intermittant

and at this moment not cooperating

most of the time it does try to start it just wont run

the not starting problem is very seldom

i only posted that part because i thought the 2 problems might be connected

Based on what you have supplied, It's probably not enough to go on, but if it is turning over and then dying straight away. It could be a compression issue. Perhaps you have a broken timing belt or timing chain.

If it isn't that and you think it's a power problem, then it could be something like a failing starter motor or Alternator.

A failing starter motor would cause the car to start sometimes but not always.(because the brushes inside will be wearing down).

And a failing alternator would be preventing your battery from recharging properly while the car is running.

I'm sorry, without more details on the problem I can't offer more advice that this.
All the best to you.

1992 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.3L stalled and wont start. No hum from fuel pump when key turned on, no fuel pressure at rail. I tryed starting fluid thru intake and no go. What could cause this?

is the fuel pump working now. sometimes the fuel relay can be the fault for no fuel. you need between 3-5 bar on fuel rail so just putting fuel in will not work. you will need a meter to check there is voltage getting to the pump the wires on pump remove them and connect to the meter and turn on ignition if volts then the pump is dead if there is no volts the relay is not working or the fuse has blown, , if fuse not blown then the relay is not working, or there is a damaged wire, even if the relay clicks it doesn't always mean its connecting.

Wont start. drove the caravan to the store then home and it hasnt started since

It could be just about anything was it driven normal before it died or was it acting up . make sure that the gas is actually getting to the engine if it is i would maybe change the spark plugs. then the computer again . but may start to get costly by guessing you may want to bring it in for test..

Take off jumper cables it dies

You're alternator is dead. Once started the alternator should generate enough power by itself to keep the engine running.

1985 dodge powerwagon, lights went dim driving home now wont start, just replaced battery 6 months ago. starter clicked at first then nothing.

The alternator may not be charging the battery. Jump start it, and use a volt meter at the battery, red lead to positive and black to neg. The meter should read between 13 and almost 15 volts, any lower than 13 volts, the alternator is no good. (this is done with vehicle running).

New battery but still acts dead - Does computer need to be reset?

do not suspect computer.
1 the new battery may not have been charged from the store so would need to be charged before use, charge new battery on a charging set and see if this resoves the problem. *or use slave leads and start from a second vehicle)
2 your alternator may not be charging the battery so after a while it will just die. use a volt meter and check that volage is increaseing to your battery when the engine is running.
if not suspect alterantor defective and may need replacement.

The car doesnt run

you have a sensor some were not likeing the heat. they can go this way sometimes. you need to run diagnostics as the engine is warming up and have it set to view the engine as it warms up to find the problem. it could be a cam sensor as they prone to do this when they are hot then work fine when they are cool.

1991 ford ranger battery light

bad battery module for the light or a dieing cell in battery

batterys can be tested and wont show a dead cell at all but you will be told that the battery good
most batterys are refurbished batterys sometimes getting the luck of a good battery is 50/50 chance

heres a way to test the battery and alternator at the same time
start vehicle
disconnect battery positive post
if vehicle dies the alternator is at fault if vehicle doesnt die its the batterys life dead cell
