It works when the weather warms up. And when cold out the heat does waft out lightly when the temp is set to hot, but the blower will not blow. Have checked pertinent fuses - any ideas?
I have a 02 Yukon and my blower motor does not work when cold either I found out it is freezing up when cold
Sounds like you need a new thermostat. When its cold its sticking.
Testimonial: "Huh? Their is hot air. Heat blows out the back just fine. Are you saying there is a thermostat that controls the front blower?"

if you are getting constant heat then no your thermostat is not at fault.
Okay thanks, Benjamin. the blower motor just will not kick on when the outside air temp is cold. If the outside air temp heats up enough, then the blower will kick on. But even when it is cold out, and the blower will not kick on, there is a constant flow of hot air that will drift out the forward vents and/or the defrost if set to defrost. It seems like a possible thermal issue, like a marginal connection that that loses contact when temps drop below a certain point.. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem - where to start?
I have the same problem with my 2006 yukon. I have found that if I set the temperature to the lowest (60 degrees) and turn the heater on and off - might take several times - i can usually get it going again. Then I turn the temperature up and all is well. This only seems to happen when the outside temperature drops below 25 degrees. Once it is warm in the cabin, I have no more issues. Suppose it could be a bad sensor or something?

Check coolant level. Check for heat at the heater hose going from water pump to heater core at firewall. Check to see that cable is moving coolant control valve from the closed to open position. Low mileage so it shouldn't be plugged heater core.
Testimonial: "You were absolutely correct. Low coolant level. Put in some 50/50 and we're nice and toasty now, but need to find out why coolant was so low. Thanks."

Are you aware of any codes that may stored in the body control module and do you hear a clicking or ticking noise in the rear?
