Was driving hit a small bump and lost all power to vehicle. Radio, lights, ect. Truck wont turn over now. I am sure it is a lose ground wire but not sure. I do not have an owners manual. I hot wired one of the red wires to the casing and it fired right up. As anyone had this problem before or have a suggestion on where I should look. Is there anyway possible I could do the hot or straight wire it with out it shorty out or causing another problem. Please help I don't have the money to fix things that is not broke.
SOURCE: Hot wire to radiator fan is burning
most likely if that is happening it depends on where the wire is burning. Yes it is grounding somewhere so if it is burning right before the fan than most likely the motor went on fan. For instance if you know the side that is getting the power and say 2 foot away is where it is burning start from there and work you way toward the fan and see if anything could cause the grounding. If not then i would lean toward replacing the motor. Best instance of this is to disconnect the fan connector and knowing what temp your fan usually kicks on take note of. Now let engine idle until it goes past this temp by 10 - 15 degrees and see if wire shorts out if not then its the motor. Turn off motor immediatley and reconnect fan.

Sir,
It's probably the brake lights that are staying on, check again, if the brake lights are staying on the brake light switch needs to be replaced. The reason I believe it's the brake lights is that they will turn on even with the key off so make sure which lights are staying on.
