SOURCE: 98 Olds LLC - AC works but fan air does not blow

If you have a late model GM car and the system is controlled electronically the blend door actuator becomes weak. When this situation occurs it will not move the air direction door inside of the heater/air conditioner plenum. in your case not to the vents Replace the actuator with new and recheck the system. i hope this helps

SOURCE: The heater fan on my 2006 GMC Sierra only blows to

Most likely is your blend door is faulty (bad motor/broken tab?).
Defrost is the idle possition ( as it is the most important).
You may have a disconnected vacuum hose from the climate controle panel if you recently (ever?) had work done in the dash area...
But my suspicion is the blend door motor...

SOURCE: My a/c (heater & Defrost) doesn't always work, could it be a fuse or the fan blower?

possible cause bad control switch.if blower motor runs okay in AC MODE AND HEATER MODE,THE CONTROL SWITCH COULD BE THE CULPIT OF THE PROBLEM.

98 gmc heater doesn't work all the time

if your heater fan blows all the time when you turn the switch on, then check the heater control valve under the hood right before the heater core. its inline with your heater hoses going into the heater core. the valve opens one way and closes the other way as you turn the switch from hot to cold.

Heater only blows out defrost

The defrost position is the default for safety so that air always blows on the windshield in case of frost.
The most common problem is a faulty blend door under the dash.
In most cases the door must be calibrated with a scan tool if you replace it.

Heater fan will not run

check the heater blower motor resistor not entirely sure where it is on your vehicle but they are always located near the fan in the heater box
you may also want to check the fan speed switch as well as the heater fuse in your fuse box
Hope This Helps.Good luck

Defroster

Yeks, quick (when engine cool) make sure your radiator is FULL and engine is AIR BLED at the thermastadt. If your master brake cylinder is assisted power your DIAPHARM could be ruptured. Causes low vac in system so heater controls only work at idle the changes to cold when driving
