Transmission fluid is on te base of the engine all settle up. Once the oil runs all over the transmission will work easily. I would make check and refill the oil on the transmission.
Until then, start ur engine and let it warm and pump for a minute until all the oil is washing all over and then go.
I have experienced a car with a heat sensitive crankshaft sensor so I would opt for that as my first choice. I doubt the fuel pressure regulator would cause your problem but it could be the fuel pump or water or dirt in the fuel tank.
I would check the computer data for the engine coolant temperature sensor before starting it in the morning. If the sensor is not reading the correct temperature, it could cause the symptoms you are describing.
I had the same problem, early morning rough idle. I changed the idol control sensor. Real easy part to change, usually about $100 for the part. My engine was teh 2.8 in 1990 Trooper. Hope it helps.
