Question about 1997 Subaru Legacy
Car's been running great, and has +200k miles... one morning about a week ago cranked fine but no start...fuel pressure is on, running about 10psi over usual limit..haven't tested spark plugs yet, I'm thinking something with the ignition system, sparks, or distributor...any thoughts appreciated, thanks.

SOURCE: 86 subaru gl wagon not firing.
I have the same problem with my 86 GL 4WD. One day it started to turn, and then lost all power. I couldn't even turn on the lights. I have played with the ignition switch wires, and gotten it to fire. I think there may be a short somewhere in the switch or the wires to the harness, but I have not isolated it yet. You might check your ignition switch and wiring...

No spark = bad coil, bad coil connections(check all for tightness), bad distributor cap or rotor(assuming vehicle doesn't use coil packs, which i doubt for a 91)
