We have a 2001 Intrepid R/T (3.5L) that stalls under heavy breaking. It has just started happening in the last month and has occurred three times. I have plugged it in and have found no codes. Any suggestions?

Your IAC,(idle air control) motor may be the culprit. I'd remove it, clean Pintle (pointed end) with throttle body cleaner good & spray well inside port it comes out of. I believe on that engine, it's at front of throttle body, under TP sensor. If it cures the problem, then starts doing it again before too long, replace it.

Intermittent stalling

I have had that happen before,Mine was crank sensor.The three things i know that would cause that problem.#1 crank sensor #2 cam sensor #3 module plate under coils.

Does this trips the check engine lamp to store a code? If possible you should take the Vehicle near a local auto parts store to have the code retrived. How many miles are on your vehilce?

i would ask the mechanic to check the ignition switch for pitting ....i had this problem with my honda accord for a long time until i finally just switched it for the second time and sanded it down to the point that it would touch but not keep contact to make the pitting .... hope this helped

is there any compression??? If the timing belt is broken, the valves will not be moving. It will be making a higher-pitch cranking sound if its the timing belt.

2001 Jetta Intermittent Run Problem

I had a similar problem with my Jetta, and it turned out to be the fuel filter. It was a cheap fix, just make sure you fill the new filter with fuel before installing so you do not have an issue starting it again.
