This car has the 4 cyl engine. As I said in the summary, this car ran out of oil and when it was refilled, it did not want to start. I need help figuring out exactly why this is happening. Im thinking the computer locked up or something because before the oil ran out, the car has running perfectly.
Your car has a saftey feature to protect the engine. When there is no oil pressure, it will kick out the fuel pump or igniton, killing the engine so as to not let the engine run without oil, thereby destroying it. Now here is the kicker, your oil pump must be primed once it has ran dry. It will not pump oil untill the inside of the pump is filled with oil. You must prime the oil pump, crank it over to build up some pressure, then it will start. We need to find the oil pump priming procedure for your particular engine. If I knew the engine size and year, I could possibly find the procedure to prime it, although it would probably involve removing the engine and oil pan to access the oil pump. Could you see if the pan is removable from the bottom? If so this job shouldn't be too hard.
Yeah Thanks! I'll definitely look into that, because the engine is good, that I'm sure of.. the car was not running when the oil leaked out and that's the only thing that was wrong with it.. the oil pan is removable from the bottom. The car is not mine, so I don't know the exact engine details other than it is a 4 cylinder engine and it is a 2006

I the engine ran completely out of oil, the engine has been cooked and is probably locked up from the friction between unlubricated metal moving parts. Also may have spun bearings which means the main or rod bearings stacked on top of each other causing the engine to lockup. If you ran the engine without oil until it quit you will probably need a new engine.

IT SOUNDS LIKE BLOW-BY THE PISTON RINGS HAVE YOU DONE A COMPRESSION CHECK AND CYLINDER LEAK DOWN TEST COULD BE A LOT OF THINGS PLUGGED PCV SYSTEM

have you tried testing the coil on the ignition side of things? sometimes coils can have coil windings break and reconnect. have a technician check the primary and secondary coil winding resistance to make sure it is good.

most definitely the cylinder head gasket is gone.the oil does not just disappear,it finds its way to the radiator,i.e. mixes with the water.unplug the rediator cap with care(when the engine is cold)and u will see some kind of sludge, creamy colour, which confirms that the cylinder head gasket is burnt.u need an engineer to do the job for u.
