If it don't pass the test, something has to have a problem. You say no engine problem or any problem, then it should pass.

SOURCE: 1988 Jaguar Vanden replace headlight

What you need to do is remove the 2 screws on the top bezel from inside the engine bay, then underneath the outer corner of the plastic headlamp surround there is a philips screw, (put your head under neath car near from wheel) loosen the screw, do not remove it, now the headlamp plastic bezel/surround will come free enough so you can get a philips screwdriver in through the middle of the headlamp surround, there is a chrome retaining ring holding the headlamp in place, loosen the 3 philips screws (do not remove) The retaining ring will rotate and you can slide the ring out from the outer edge of the headlamp surround. The headlamp will then come out throught the middle of the surround, disconnect the 3 pin multiplug and reverse process for install.

SOURCE: How do i disable valet mode om a 98 jaguar vanden

Try inserting the key into the drivers door lock and try centrally locking and unlocking all the doors a few times. If this does not reset the valet function try using the key in the drivers door lock and pressing the fob at the same time as locking and unlocking the doors. Even with valet mode engaged you should be able to access the trunk by physically inserting the key into the trunk lock.

Testimonial: "it was really helpful and the trunk yea i was able to open with the key but it still doesn't remove the valet all is doing is not keep sunroof open "

SOURCE: how to remove a starter on a 86 jaguar xj6 vanden

The starter motor is located on the passenger side ( left ) side of the motor. it is held onto the motor with two bolts. Before starting the removal process you must disconnect the battery by removing the ground lead. Under the car disconnect the battery feed wires on the solonoid mounted on the starter. Also disconnect the white with red tracer wire on the solonoid. This is the wire that comes from the starter relay on the firewall. Remove the upper bolt first. You can get at it from the top of the engine bay and then remove the bottom bolt. This starter is heavy. The starters on the later cars were a lot lighter. The starter will clear the engine. Be sure to test the new starter before you install it. Installation is reverse of the removal.

I am getting a P0443 code on my 2002 Jaguar Vanden Plas. Simultaneously, when I try to fuel the tank, the pump keeps shutting off like the tank was full but there is only about 1/3 of a tank of gas in the...

The EVAP system purges any build up of vapours from the fuel tank and burns them thro the engine at pre-detemined times. This is done by means of the EVAp solenoid which when energised allows engine vacuum at one side to **** the vapours from the other side and pass them thro engine. Look for the black solenoid with two vacuum pipes and two wire plug on it. think you may be correct and have disturbed it when doing the air filter.

1987 vanden plas won't start

The fuel has to be under pressure in the fuel rail. Quick check for the pressure: pinch off the fuel return line and get an assistant to crank the engine. If it starts....it needs a new check valve in the rail. Fuel is just circulating in a loop from the tank. No pressure being generated to enable fuel injectors to "fire".
If FP ok, then check the neutral sw in the trans selector hsng. if not operated when selector is in P or N engine will not start.

Check air flap in the throttle valve body is not stuck in open position. and is free to operate. The idle bleed /cold start valve needs the air flap to be operational.

Check connecting bellows between throttle body and inlet m'fold to ensure no air leaks. If leaking it will by-pass the control in the throttle body.

Not aware of your skills so for me to start getting into the other possibles would be a bit premature.

2000 xj8 vanden plas was running fine parked it in my garage for the weekend and on Monday am turned the key and it spun but no crank...battery fine...help help

I have had the same situation with the 2000 VP. It eventually starts after several minutes. (Be careful not to over-crank the starter or it will overheat.) The engine starts very rough, smoky and sounds awful. Keep the accelerator at a point where the engine "catches". I suspect the problem is not electrical, but fuel injector / supply system. Perhaps a dirty fuel filter, etc. This has happened ONLY when the car has sat unused for two to three days. I have yet to ask my mechanic.

96 vanden plas

check your idle control sensor, also have you checked your timing, and your plugs. I had a car that had a small miss. I spent lots of money replacing and tracking just to find a plug that wasn't gapped correctly. Also no visible leaks does not mean no leaks. a pin whole could cause this. Check your mass air flow, and clean it while your doing this. Also check your throtle body sensor. Pull the throtle body its usually 4 bolts. Clean it out real good and put it back on.

let me know if this helps.
