Malfunctioned; unplugged, plugged back in, seems OK. Yes?

I was told that the multiple function switch on my 2003 Hyundai Accent was malfunctioning and that I needed a new one. My tail lights and the stop light above the trunk lid were staying on even with the light switch turned off. The technition unplugged the MF switch and plugged it back in, at which time the lights went off. Do I really need another switch, or will this fix the problem?

In my professional opinion, you have separate problems (if your description is accurate and haven't left anything out). # 1, the high mounted brake lamp is not part of the multi-function switch circuit (it's separate) - ONLY BRAKE LIGHTS.
#2 the other problem could very well be the multi-function switch because it controls the tail lamp relay in the Engine Compartment Junction box (under hood electrical box). When the parking lights are turned on, that high mounted 3rd brake lamp is NOT supposed to come on. It should only come on when the brake pedal is depressed. My professional experience/opinion, you either have the wrong bulb (single filament) in one of the brake lamp sockets in the rear of the vehicle, or one of those dual-filament brake lamp bulbs is shorted internally. You can verify this by pressing the brake pedal and see if the dash/cluster lights come on.

I have a 2003 Hyundai Accent. My air conditioning is not working. The heater, fan, blowers and everything else are working fine. I was told that is was the a/c switch, so I had it replaced and it did not...

With the wire to the compressor unplugged, see if 12 volts is present at the plug. If voltage is present, then check the terminals on the compressor clutch for continuity. ( voltage meter in beep mode) Volt meter will beep if clutch coil is good, no beep, clutch coil is bad. Also low Freon pressure will disable clutch via low pressure switch at the accumulator. Always check pressure and add Freon to low side(large tubing) A freeze hazard and explosion hazard (high side, small tubing) exist when handling Freon. Wear safety glasses and be careful. Also cooling fans should run continuous when A/C is on

Seems like your transmission has failed. Either some syncros or bearings are worn out. Its sounds like its time to either have it rebuilt or replaced.

Electronic connector for brakes on Hyundai Accent

hi from uk the part you mention is the brake stop light switch it has a plug on 2xwire plug it operates by as pedal is pressed the plunger of switch moves out and connects the 2xwire circuit and so brake lights operate this switch simply unscrews from the pedal box/carriage after plug removed then the new switch screwed in place and with b/pedal off the switch is screwed to a point that if you press pedal down approx 1/2 " the switch plunger moves out and b/lights come on this is trial/error untill you are happy with the pedal movement down till lights operate SIMPLE ! hope this helps?

On 2003 accent high beams don't work, low beams do. Have replaced and checked dimmer switch, relay under dash, and checked for power coming to light connecter, (only power on low). Is there another relay I...

On the 03 Accent, there is only one relay which supplies power to both circuits. The 'distribution' of power is controled by the multi-function switch (turn signal switch).
As you can see in this wiring schematic/diagram.

CHANGING A FUEL FILTER IN A HYUNDAI GETZ

I have an '03 Hyundai Accent 1600cc. I am told by the techies at the local dealer, the fuel filter is ON the fuel tank. You gain access to it by removing the back seat, then opening the panel beneath the back seat. Replace the filter, screw the panel back onto the floor and the job is done....

High-low beams not working

Check for headlight relay and fuse. Some cars have separate circuits for head light flasher and normal high/low beam. From your description, I would suspect a bad connection to/from relay or relay itself.

Can't move car! Driver Back Wheel locked?

Sounds like your brake diaphragm in the rear that puts pressure on the pads has malfunctioned, if you know where your brake bleeding plug is you can maybe release the pressure real quick then tighten it back, but, it sounds like a repair shop unless you work on them yourself.
