Driving hear a noise begin about 25 mph -- sounds akin to something rubbing on the tread, a model plane, or akin to when you drive on shoulder of the interestate and the divots make your car vibrate and make a loud noise similar (but it is not that loud) -- just started while travelling -- no dahs lights come on, no problem with steering or acceleration -- does not make the sound when idle and engine revved -- sound starts low but gets higher pitched faster you drive -- sounds like from somewhere in front half of car -- tires not showing any odd wear -- serpentine belt fine -- no vibrations felt in steering wheel except ever so slight as noise begins about 25 mph -- ideas?
SOURCE: front end vibration
It sounds as though your car has two seperate problems. The first problem with the vibration that goes away when you let off the gas pedal is caused by a bad INNER CV joint. It only vibrates when you are accelerating because that is when the joint is under stress. Your vehicle has two axles, each with an inner and an outer joint. My suggestion is to have a competent shop determine which is the bad side and replace the entire axle. The second vibration which occurs at any speed is most likely cause by either a bad tire, or a bent rim.

hello have u rotated the tires front to rear then drive and see if u still have the noise and vibration if drive yes while driving slowely turn the steering wheel left to right just a small amount if the noise changes its probably a front wheel bearing if that doesn.t help drive the truck till you get the vibration then let up on the gas pedal does the noise go away if so you might have a bad u_joint but do the tires first how many miles???????
SOURCE: Noise (vibration) when turning right
That sounds like a left front wheel bearing gone bad My friend.. turning right transfers weight to the left side and it probably has a roar similar to a turbo fan jet.. Try it and lemmie know.. thank you
SOURCE: Loud roaring noise in front, steering wheel has vibration, replaced tires didn't help.
Wheel bearings are likly and I've changed many to solve this problem but it's esy to pick the wrong one with e vehical jacked and on jack stands suporting the car by the lower control arms ( normal ride hieght) run the car with a driver and listen to ti run , of course theres no load on the powertrain so there will be some lash ( power on to power decline ) cheack up. The roaring noise can be isolated by puting a sounding bar ( long metal rod ( sr=crew driver)) other against the part till the sound is rounded up rear but possible the carrier bearings in the (rear end) front drive. The axel bearings and on some units the carrier bearing thats in the CV axel on the block. Sounding rod will find and change the noisey part. Professional help is a good idea if you can't carry this out saftly

first rotate the tires see if there is a change. If that does not have a desirable effect there may be a worn wheel bearing, take note if the sound or vibration gets louder as you turn a corner, try left turns as well as right turns if the noise increases it is a wheel bearing.
