Try disarming the car from the trunk. Sounds like the door lock switch is not deactivating the alarm, which it should, with or without the remote.

Insert the key into the door lock on the driver side and move it to the unlock position two times quickly. That should turn off the alarm.

try testing or replaceing the drivers door lock actuator, reprogram ur key fobs and try unlocking and locking ur doors. as far as the lights and reminder,....it sounds like a seperate problem. but try the door actuator first (drivers side always act up and cause every other actuator to act up... like a bad kid that gets the rukkus started and ruins things for everyone..

SOURCE: Jag S-Type -intermitent fault where the remote fob does not work

This does not sound like a fob fault - but a locking control module fault , either in the hardware or software of the unit. Get it checked at a Jaguar dealers. When unlocking using the key - as soon as the door is opened you should hear a chime sounding inside the car - this is a timer counting down to sounding the alarm. If you put your key in the ignition as soon as you open the door the alarm should not go off and the chime should stop. If it does not this again points to a fault in the locking controller.
hope this helps - good luck.

Update 4/28 2006 Mitsubishi Galant. The alarm goes off randomly now. Where is the system located and how can I fix or disable it?

for sure not just a bad horn button or its relay
when it alarms does the dash screen show door errors>?
it is not a single system it is deeply integrated in to all.
do not fool around air bags, or boom, they must be disabled first working near any air bag SRS

I FEEL YOUR PAIN, MOST OEM ALARMS CAN NOT BE FULLY DISABLED (AS IN FOR EVER , HACKED?)
IS THE CAR BATTERY FULLY CHARGED, NOT WEAK?
ONE SOLUTION IS TO ASK THE DEALER TO DISABLE IT
OR PULL THE HORN FUSE f8.. JUST TO GET SILENCE
I AM NOT TALKING IMMOBLIZER HERE. JUST THE DOOR ALARMS.

SCAN THE PCM FIRST (IT MAY TELL YOU WHICH DOOR FAILS)
THERE ARE 10+ SWITCHES TO FAIL HERE THIS YEAR.
FRONT AND REAR./
DOORS CAN BE SOME TIMES
MY CAR THE USER GUIDE TELLS YOU HOW. TO NOT SET ALARMS.
ON SOME CARS JUST USE THE METAL KEY TO LOCK THE DOOR AND AND ALARMS ARE NOT ENABLED, RTM READ YOUR USERS GUIDE FIRST
YES SOME CARS THE SILLY ALARM DOES NOT TELL YOU WHICH DOOR SWITCH FAILS ,JUST THAT 1 IN 10 DID. 1 FOR LIFT GLASS
YES A HUGE PAIN REPLACE ALL SWITCHES 1 BY 1./
BUT IF MUST GUESS TRY DRIVES DOOR SW FIRST, IT GETS HARD USE.

FIRST MAKE SURE FOBS ARE NOT BAD GOING TO PINIC MODE
TO DO SO, TAKE OUT FOB BATTERY
OR WRAP THE FOB IN KITCHEN ALUM FOIL.
OR FIND STEEL COOKIE BOX AND PUT ALL FOBS IN THE CAN
THIS FORMS A FARADAY GAGE
ALSO A FOB BAD OR ITS BATTERY WEAK CAN BE IT.
SO GO TO BED WITH FOBS ALL IN A TIN BOX. SEE IF IT ENDS PAIN.

MANY CARS THE USERS GUIDE EVEN HAS SPECIAL MODES
LIKE NO HEAD LAMP FLASHING EVER,(BY ARMED OR ALARM)

JUST HAD 1 FOB HERE THAT WENT BERSERK
OPENS TAIL GATE GLASS A 1000 TIMES AS WE SLEEP!
AND DOING SO BATTERY NEW FAILS FAST. GOES WORSE.
THE BUTTON IN THE FOB IS SHORTED AND CAN NOT BE REPAIRED.
ONLY A NEW FOB.

CHAPTER 3 IN YOUR MANUAL STATE( AND IS NOT CLEAR)
USERS GUIDES ARE WRITTEN BY KLINGONS.
Alarm deactivation The alarm can be deactivated in the following ways.
By using the remote control transmitter to lock or unlock
the door or to open the trunk lid.
Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position.

Disarmed stage The system will be disarmed when either of the following steps
are taken:
1. All doors are unlocked by the remote control transmitter.
2. The ignition key is turned to the "ACC" or "ON" position.
3. If the UNLOCK button is pressed when all doors are
closed and no door is opened within approximately 30
seconds, re-arming will automatically occuR.

I'D ASK THE DEALER FOR HELP. OR ANY ASE SHOP TOO.
IF THE SCANS TELL WHAT FAILED WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO MISS THAT?

on my car locking the door with key only , alarms are not active. finding this out on mitsubishi is not easy.
some galant's have hood switch and if bad or not aligned
boom
justanswers said

The only methods to disarm the factory alarm is to either use the wireless remote to unlock the doors while the alarm is going off, or use the key to unlock the car twice, either using the drivers door or the trunk lock.

There is no other disarming procedure. If the lock cylinders do not disarm it, it is possible that both of your cylinder switches are bad.

recap (my hit list) list shorter.
check all fuses
battery main in car 12vdc not weak 12.6v is good or more.
car starts can drives far ,day or night?
horn button not bad, or clock spring shorts, steering col.
keyfobs not bad, (remove all coins for testing) this test assumes the fobs are super bad and must be defeated. now.

see if dash message shows,:door open alarm) <<< 11 switches to fail.
scan the PCM to see DTC related to doors or alarm or horn.
use the metal key to lock door, and not set alarm.
some dealers can disable some features here, ask them.

see next answer base on dead fobs or those gone mad.
consider fob buttons can short and is never fun this. ever.
consider drowned fob (wet inside,) battery out now.

one more from justanswers
lost fobs, or dead ones totally dead/bad or mad.

Then to disarm you will insert the key into the drivers door and turn it twice to unlock. Either the drivers door or the trunk lock can be used for this.

You can not simply disconnect the alarm on this model. The alarm is built into the ETACS (Electronic Timing and Alarm Control System). To disable the ETACS you would lose functionality of your locks, dome light, turn signals, low beam headlights and windshield wiper control. All of these functions are built into the ETACS with the alarm function.

How to stop alarm on honda frv

Use the key to lock and unlock the driver's side door. Many factory car alarms are designed to turn off when in proximity to the appropriate key or key fob. You may be able to shut your car alarm down simply by inserting your key into the lock on the driver's side door, locking it, and unlocking it again.

My alarm goes off intermittently

Try resetting the alarm, using the instructions given at the link below. I'll also copy the text here.

 1. Insert the ignition/door key in the door lock on the driver's- side door of your Mountaineer.
 2. Turn the key to the lock position.
 3. Turn your key to the unlock position.
 4. Turn your key to the lock position.
 5. Turn your key to the unlock position. Your alarm is now disabled. If your key fob works, you can also press the unlock or alarm-disable button on the fob.
 6. Start the Mountaineer's engine and allow the vehicle to run for at least 10 minutes. This will allow the alarm to relearn the default settings. You must make sure that you have disabled the alarm first, however, before you attempt to start the vehicle, so that the alarm will reset itself.

If these instructions don't work, you can try resetting the car's computer by unplugging the battery for half an hour. However, that will reset the keyless entry code, as you can see in the fixya article I link to at the bottom

Fob still won't work after new battery and nothing wrong with the contact inside, do not hae original code for the Kia sportage 1998 so what is the next best thing ,to do?

When replacing the key fob battery there is no reprogramming required! If the key fob was working prior to the battery replacement then it would point to the contacts not being correct! Remove key fob battery and start again!

Car alarm goes off when unlocking door

You will needs to think of it this way. Once you set your alarm it is looking for the corresponding signal to disable itself. That comes from the fob. If you don't use the fob and just use the key, the alarm system is doing its job and alerting you since it has not received the disable command from the fob. Either lock the door with the button when you exit the car if you want to use the key or use the alarm fob. This will also happen if you use the car manufacturers fob to unlock the car if you have locked it with the alarm manufacturers fob.

Hope that helps - I have hidden all of my original car fobs to help alleviate this problem!

How do I disable the alarm system for my 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt? Every time I unlock the doors and open them, a short honk beeps in 1 second intervals, and then after ten seconds proceeds to the full...

If you lock your doors with the remote, you have to use the remote to unlock them or it set off the alarm. I don't know why the manufacturers designed it that way(kind of stupid)but it's programmed into the on board computer. You can't disable the alarm without creating a worse problem somewhere else.
