How to replace the cabin air filter

I don't believe that the miata came factory equipped with a cabin filter. I checked for part numbers on multiple online parts resources and could not find a part.

In that one, you take the glove box cover loose, and the cabin filter is behind a door in the rear of the glove box.
A local Mazda dealer parts department should tell you where the filter is.
A local junk yard could also help you find it.

I buy cabin filters new on e-bay for $ 5.

Most cabin air filters are located behind glove box. There should be an access door to open or remove in back of compartment to get to the cabin air filter.

instructions should be in your owners manual. generally you remove the glove box and remove a plastic cover for air filter. Pull out filter, noting the direction of flow on the filter, push in the new filter and button everything up.

FILTER IS PLACED ON THE LEFT SIDE BY THE FEET. REMOVE SIDE PLASTIC AND AIR BLOWER COVER. WILL FIND SMALL COVER WITH 4 SCREWS TOWARDS CENTER CONSOLE. 2 SMALL FILTERS INSIDE. IMPORTANT YO REPLACE SAME WAY.

from memory, I believe it is under the front bumper, I can't remember left or right, may need to move a plastic stone shield to gain access. Good luck

(cabin filter solution) Their is an cabin airfiliter behind the glove compartment (2004 mazda mpv) which is very easy to take off. Replace the airfilter or clean it with soap and water. Open the glove box and on the bottom left had side of the glove box if you apply enough presure on it by pulling it out towards you and slightly down it should pop off. The right side should slide out immediately following the left side pop. All it is, is a fork like claw holding on to a bar. On the ride side is a bar sliding into a hole. That should do the trick. After the first time its a sinch.

remove the glove box by pulling the sides in and opening it passed the stops. there's a 2" x 8"(approximate) box behind the glove box open the cover and you'll find the cabin air filter
