Is this a diesel or gas vehicle ? and what engine does it have ? They all have different type of systems . Diesels have a low pressure and high pressure pump and IPC and IPR valves . Gas vehicles have different controls ,( FPDM ) fuel pump driver module that is controlled by the engine computer ,with the help of a fuel rail pressure sensor. There is problem with the FPDM because of it's location under the vehicle . I have 2006 f350 diesel it acts like it's not

wow....the sky is the limit here....i LOVE the 6.0, it pays my bills :)....with that said..there are many possiblities, almost too numerous to speak of...first, i assume you can hear the fuel pump?..try opening the upper fuel filter housing and turning on the ignition key, if filter bowl fills, good!...when you crank it, is it cranking above 500 rpm? thats the minimum needed to start, make sure batteries are strong. when cranking, can you see the oil presure guage rise? does it have the right oil in it? your fuel injectors are driven by high presure oil, without base pressure (what your dash guage would read) the high pressure system has no oil to drive injectors "power stroke". if you have base pressure you really need to have a computer on it to monitor high presure oil when cranking, will need 500 psi just to fier then would jump up from there...it is also possible the FICM, or fuel injection control module has failed..this too needs to be tested with computer, needs to read internal voltages to make sure has45 volts..now the ficm may be covered under emission waranties still...that truck did come with a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty on engine and some componetns are 6 years, based on state sold in...back to the high pressure oil system, in 06 the vehicle had awhat called a snap to connect fitting, or STC. that connects the high p[ressure oil pump to the branch tubes that supply oil to the injectors..that too can seperate with age and cause a no start...it would be in your best interest after chdecking the basics to see you dealer...in comparison the initial diagnosis would be cheap (in comparison) and effective if trying to repair on your own...it will save you much hair on your head!! good luck, hope this helps you...very hard if not impossible to diagnose these without compuiter on it!

2001 F350 7.3L Diesel won't start

I take it you have a crank no start issue, the fuel is injected by high pressure oil, no oil pressure no start, there are 2 oil pumps, low lube pressure and high injection control pressure (ICP) the injection system is hydraulic controls electric actuated fuel injection, if when you crank the engine over and the oil pressure guage goes up base pressure is ok, then its high pressure or the best thing I can say is pull codes and that can give me a good direction to send you in, there are many things that can cause that problem, if the fuel heater shorts out, the pcm and it are on the same 30amp circuit causin the same problem and still you would have proper fuel pressure readings.

Shut 05 Ford f350 diesel off wont start

dies the truck restart once it cools off? it is very common for th 6.0 to have high pressure oil issues on a hot soak. they will run till the cows come home but once shut off they can not build up enough pressure by cranking speed alone to start truck until it cools down and the seals become rigid enough to bridge the gaps they are sealing in the first please. if this is the case. it may be the STC fitting ojn the back of the high pressure oil pump (intake and turbos must be removed to check) or possibly the branch tube o rings have worn. the branch tubes are located under the valve covers and supply the fuel injectors the oil they need to perform their "power stroke"...

Ford f350 7.3l diesel carnks but won't start

Check your battery voltage while cranking. If it's too low, the electronics won't work and the injectors won't fire. If the batteries are down a bit, there won't be enough power to turn the engine over fast enough to start. It needs a minimum of 100 rpm and 8 volts while cranking. You also might try waiting till you're sure the GPR has dropped out. That takes the GP load off the batteries and may get the voltage up enough to get it to start, oh and also does the tach move when you're cranking? If not, then chances are the CPS is the culprit.

F350 Super Duty Diesel 2005 suddenly died while driving.Cranks fine but wont start.Help

that's good but it still doesn't rule out a leak in the high pressure oil system. When you turn on the key do the injectors buzz like normal? Usually 5-10 secs

Vehicle will not start 7.3 diesel

I have a no start problem with my 1995 7.3L and checked the wiring connectors to the valve cover gaskets to the injectors. One of the terminals (out of five) is burned out on at least two connectors. I'll replace both gaskets and repair the connectors and let you know if that fixes it.
