Apply the parking brake with the vehicle parked, engine turned off and transmission in Park. Release the parking brake completely, then apply it again, and ensure that it is fully released. Turn the ignition on, check to see if the Parking brake warning light is on. If it is NOT on, apply the parking brake and check to see if the warning light comes on. If the light come ON wihen the Parking brake is applied,.....fully release the parking brake and check if the warning light goes OFF. If it does NOT go off, then an adjustment is needed at the parking brake switch.
the trans receives a signal from a censer that tells it you have applied the break, which allows it to shift. do your break lights turn on when you push on the break?
yes...just about every car has hydraulic brakes....brake fluid is put under pressure by the master cylinder when the pedal is applied.....this in turn applies pressure to the brake pistons at the wheels...if you mean " are the brakes servo assisted "..then yes
there could be a problem with the linkage itself, when it does not come out of park there is a reason, when you force it, that is when you create bad problems for yourself. it could be something as simple as the brake lamp switch located directly on the brake pedal arm.
Hi ,you should check the rear brakes of your vehicle ,it is posible that they are not returning back when the brake is applied, the brake cilinders may be staying open , c1
