If equipted with a/c, you have a hose off the a/c control behind the dash panel or off the outside air plenum. Turn off the radio and fan, lay under dash and listen for air leak.

SOURCE: 1999 temperature control will not regulate heat/air

This is likely caused by a failed or jammed electric air temerature control blend door actuator and or a warped and jammed blend door.

1999 grand cherikee dual heating zone 1 side hot passanger side cold

If the heat control system is operated by small vacuum hoses, check the hoses under the hood and under the dash at the heater control. The hoses control "doors" or large air-valves which direct heated air. Sometimes the hoses break or become disconnected, and sometimes the doors get stuck.

Driver side heat blows cool air passenger side blows hot air

Hello. The side that is not operating properly has a bad temp door actuator located up under the dash. I am assuming this vehicle has driver/passenger(dual)climate control heat and cold settings. This is a very common problem on these vehicles. Hope you find this information useful!

Impala has dual climate control. AC blows cold on

with a dual climate control system, it is imperative for a proper refrigerant charge to be maintained. the symptom you describe is a possible indicator of low charge on the system. the ac evaporator core is closest to the right side of vehicle thereby making air feel cooler on that side, on the left side of the vehicle the cooled air has farther to travel and warms up from cabin air before it discharged from the vents. this is the most probable issue for your vehicle...however if the charge is accurate, the issue would be more so in the air temperature doors which is located deep inside the dash...i hope this helps...good luck!

MY AIR CONDITIONIER ON 97 FORD EXPIDITION BLOWS HOT AIR IN THE FRONT, YOU CAN TURN THE AIR OFF AND THEN BACK ON AND IT WILL WORK SOME TIMES FOR A LITTLE WHILE. SOME TIME IT WORKS OK FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS....

The hot and cold air in the front is controlled by an actuator in the dash. The temp controller is working as designed because the back is working fine. You need to take to local shop to have the vent actuator or heater control box inside changed out. Then the tempaturer controller has to be reset. Good luck

Problem: Ford Windstar SE, 3.8L V6, 1999, front seat heat/defrost is alway cold with engine warm and heater turned on. Symptoms: 1) When (engine is warm and) front seat heat temp slider is moved from...

I would think the door you hear flapping is the door that controls the airflow across the heater coil - and the fan keeps blowing the door closed, preventing the airflow from going across the heating coil. I don't know whether this vehicle is vacum controlled or cable controlled - so either it's a disconnected cable, or a leaking vacum line.
