I could be the CKP (crank sensor), but it could also be several other factors including the TPS. The correct way to start a diagnosis would be to see if any trouble codes are stored in memory. I'm assuming all basic ignition components are ok ; spark plugs, etc.

Mine actually dies the other day because I didn't tighten the battery cable down all the way. Seems simple, but since you've changed everything else it may just work

During driving and ideling the engine simply dies,

sounds like your crankshaft sensor is faulty.I would change that first.

95 jeep grand cherokee died wont start,it cranks, checked fuel pump replaced filter cleaned injecters still nothing

Check to see if getting fire from coil or plugs. If not, your problem is most likely the Crankshaft Position Sensor.

$18 - $21 dollars. CPS is on left side of where transmission buckles to fly wheel, near top edge. One bolt and plugs in. (2 wires in plug)

Drive shaft to 4-wheel gear box might be in your way. No prob. 4 small bols and lower front end of drive shaft.

About a 45 - 60 minute job for shadetree mechanics, like myself, and 2 coffee breaks.

Prior syptoms of sensor going bad is engine rumbling real bad when coming to a stop, and sometimes dies but will start.

Hope this it.

check the fuel pump fuse/relay, could be just bad enough to cause an intermittent start/no start. and check fuel pressure, spark and the crank position sensor.

2002 jeep grand cherokee with 4.0 engine will die but restart

I do not know what the error codes mean but know that When I has the sme problem with my jeep it was the fuel pump. What happens is when it heats up it es less and less fuel and chokes the engine. When cold it runs better. remember gas in the tank helps cool the pump but sounds like your pump needs replacing as it is starting to give out.
