2005 nissan sentra 1.8 se has cold air blowing from inside vents with temp select switch set on the HOT position. What could be the cause of this problem?

Car interior remains cold with heater select switch dialed up to HOT. Temp difference on heater supply/return hoses shows heat exchange is occurring but car interior remains cold. Antifreeze level in radiator and expansion tank remains the same whether or not engine is running. Mist formation on inside of windshield can only be cleared manually or by running the A/C upon initial start up on cold mornings or when it rains.

Sounds like the heater - ac door actuator is not working. This part would need to be replaced, it's not repairable.

SOURCE: heater blowing cold air

My 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8s with 55,000 mi. blows cold air from the heater. Coolant not circulating in engine. Lower hose stays cool to touch. Both heater hoses cold. Changed thermostat - didn't fix it. Coolant not leaking or dirty. None in oil - no oil in radiator. Changed worn water pump belt - pump spins freely with no noise or resistance. Cooling fans come on after warm-up. Temperature gauge stays in normal range then jumps to hot and back again. Coolant good to 10 below - didn't freeze here yet. No other problems or repairs to car. Afraid to drive and make worse. Help!

SOURCE: How to replace thermostat on

Do this when cool. Take radiator cap off, start the engine, turn on heat (not defrost) and now top up coolant to about an inch or 2 from top of radiator, as level drops down, and let vehicle run until the radiator fan comes on, then off, about 3 times, and add coolant as needed while it's running. After that, put radiator cap back on tight & make sure return bottle is filled to proper level. Now try that & see how heat is, temperature gauge etc, and keep an eye on return bottle level for a while. Let me know how it is.

SOURCE: heater blowing cold air

My 05 sentra with 79k miles heat will warm up and then get cold after a mile of driving, we have tried to get the air pocket out, the mechanic stated he thought it could be a blown head gasket, another mechanic said it was a bad heater core. Any advice would be appreciated.

SOURCE: No interior heat until I start to drive

You most likely have an "AIR LOCK" within the Heater Core. This requires one to pressurize the Cooling System and loosen the heater hose at the HIGHEST POINT and bleed the Air out of the Heater Core. I am not familiar with the Nissan but have encountered this problem numerous times over the years. Most late model vehicles are equipped with Air Bleed devices which must be utilized any time coolant is drained and refilled.

Most all reputable Auto Parts stores sell and/or rent a pump that temporarily replaces the Pressure Cap that may be utilized to pressurize the system for this purpose. If you don't feel capable of performing the bleeding operation take your vehicle to an ASE Certified Mechanic and have it done correctly.

Testimonial: "Great advice. That's what I thought it might be, but I wanted someone else's opinion on the matter. Thanks a lot."

NO HEAT. A/C works fine. Air blows but no warmth. blows cold air for front defog and cold air blows when temp cranked high 1-5

warmth comes from the heater in the car
if it is climate control check the climate control module
check for heater control in the vent settings as the hot water tap may not be turning on

Interior thermostat control is stuck in position that it only blows air in floor, regardless whether its on heat or AC. It will blow hot or cold, just wont allow you to change air flow positions. Also...

check fuses and relays. there is an electric motor that opens and closes a "blend air door' that switches from hot to cold. the other lights may or may not be related. Is is very possible that the plug going into the control unit has a bad connection.

Only hot air blows out vent when switch is in cold or blue area even when ac is on

Could also be that you are out of Freon, Compress may have a leak. Try it on cold setting in the early morning if its not even cool and heats up fast then Rob is correct. ITs a damper/ temp problem which is eternal. You can tear apart you dash and check on the damper (looks like a doggie door) make sure nothing is in the way and the hinger isnt broken.....I hope you can fix it yourself..
