Trunk on my 07 legacy sedan will not close.

The trunk on my legacy will not close. It goes all the way into the position it is supposed to be in but doesn't stay in place and pops open while driving. I don't know if the latch is broken or stuck but it goes into place and doesn't stay there. My trunk is now permanently open and flies up and down on every bump i hit.

SOURCE: Can not get in the trunk. The handle is broken.

Legacy, right? Can you tilt the backseats' backrests forward? like when you want to transport something big in the trunk... I suppose the sedan has this similarly to the station wagon.
Use a pocket torch to look for the lock body from inside and there should be a small button or better a lever that you have no clue what it is there for, right? try to push it or pull it from ech side untill it opens.
It is actually there to prevent transporting people in the trunk against their will(unlike the movies, where it is possible).

SOURCE: Trunk problem

Rust builds up on the handle on the outside. A few small drops of oil usually will allow it to return to the proper position. Hope this helps and have a great day.

I have a 1993 subaru legacy l sedan, somebody tried to break into my trunk and now the release wont work.

You can get to it by the back seats. They have releases at the base of the headrests, just pull them out. They are on small metal pins and sometimes the pulleys come out, so you might have to use pliers. Hope this helps!

Trunk up message on dash

Find the switch that is out of adjustment in your trunk and position it properly. You will know you have the proper switch when the light goes out.

I accidentally pulled the interior trunk release of 2008 volkswag

Try a screw driver, and release the trunk release at the same time and unsnap the latch, the latch thinks it is closed, because the latch never opened back up to allow the striker to go in it and trigger the latch to close, the latch is in closed mode, you will have to manually unlatch the latch sort of speak.
