Car feels like tranny slips or car misses during acceleration

U may not need a new tranny but yours is in serious need of repair.
Best to check out lest you get stranded in future.

sounds like the transmission is slipping-check to make sure your tranny fluid is at the correct level and if it is check with your dealer as they may be able to do a tranny service & adjust the bands.

Do you have any check engine codes? If not...you probably do have a slipping tranny.

You can try a tranny additive like trans-medic and see if it helps minimize the slipping.....if not...it may be time to look for a new vehicle.

What seems to be coming from the rear is more likley coming from the transmission. The main pump within the tranny wheres down after high milage. When the pump weakens it is unable to pressurize the drums within the tranny and the clutches slip causing a chattering feeling throughout the vehicle. Time, most likley, for a rebuild. this is a worn out transmission front pump and or forward clutch pack, u have low pressure or a internal seal is leaking and you are losing hydraulic pressure that way, that is why it sipls out of gear.

The ticking is a stuck lifter cause is usually from the oil not being changed. The transmission oil may never have been changed and now it may need to be overhauled. Is the fluid level correct and clean or does it smell burnt? Take it in for service and have them replace your brake fluid and inspect for any problems. Many people don't maintain their cars and trade them into dealers.

Your car overheating is either low coolant or its the thermostat. The thermostat is what tells the car to add coolant and turn on fans.
Your tranny slips could be because low transmission fluid, which was the cause with my VW. Or your tranny is bad, which is common with VW.

if i was you try to refresh the trans before any other wear happens, drop the pan replace the filter (pops right in) while the fluid makes a mess =) and replace with new fluid, substitute 1 qrt. lucas stop slip for 1 qrt. tranny fluid though, and make sure the dot reccomendation is right for your truck, good luck and that should help it unless your having idle air problem, but if it feels like its sleeping do as i advised, good luck and take care, let me know if it fixed it always good to get follow ups =) c ya

hi sounds like your screen or tranny filter needs to be changed check maintaince records last time done what you can do while vehicle is running pull tranny stick smell fluid does smell a little like paint thinner what color is it is light pink to brown needs to be changed
