It is.
the switch takes a beating, 14 years, of shifting, add that up>
huge.
adjust it, and if still bad replace it...... so easy...

the switch is just a simple switch, METAL, brass .
it closes and passes the crank signal 12v to the starter.
if it dont pass the 12v, its bad, (baring rare shorted soleniod)
the voltage on the wire, clutch depress is the BIG clue. as to what is bad 0v is bad switch, 6v is shorted line.
0v bad.
1v to 8v bad short in line, (more tests)
10v to 12 volt normal cranking (unless in N.Pole)

Your car has a hydraulic clutch. You can not adjust it. It adjusts itself.

Neutral safety switch location

If you have a 5-speed manual transmission, you're probably looking for the clutch safety switch, which is located on the clutch pedal under the dash near the firewall, rather than the neutral safety switch, which is on the left side of automatic transmissions. Out of curiosity, why do you believe that it needs to be serviced?

Netural safety switch

Daewoo cars have track record for dependability in addition to solid construction. The most important part of a car's design is the safety features. Circumvent excessive risk while motoring by insuring that your car has the safety gear that you want. A vehicle's Neutral Safety Switch is located on your clutch in the case that it's a manual transmission, and on the shifter in an automatic. A broken Neutral Safety Switch can cause your vehicle to suddenly start in gear, causing vehicle damage or personal injury.

If you don't have the Neutral Safety Switch, your vehicle will fail to work. The Neutral Safety Switch is typically situated below the clutch of trucks which have a stick-shift transmission. The primary function of a Neutral Safety Switch is to stop your truck from starting when in gear. The car's Neutral Safety Switch acts as a safety feature, keeping you from starting the engine if the car is in gear. The Neutral Safety Switch is an electronic part which is essential while starting your car. Here's a link to what it look's like.

Turn key on, but doesnt even click. battery and starter are fine

This may be due to a bad neutral safety switch, is this car automatic or manual transmission?

If automatic try to start in neutral and if manual try to locate switch on clutch pedal and use a jumper wire to jump connector for switch, NOTE; If switch is jumped car will start in gear with pedal not pushed down and car will take off so this is just as a test not a repair!!!!!, good day

I have a 5 speed transmission and my clutch neutral safety switch is going out. can I bypass this switch

well to clear things up, its not a "neutral safety switch", manual vehicles have a clutch safety switch!
And yes you can bypass it, follow the clutch pedal up behind the dash, you'll find the switch. pull the plug and "short" the two connections(of the plug) with a piece of wire.

What makes you say it is "going" bad? Just curious, normally it'll just stop working!

How do I replace the neutral safety switch on my 2000 GMC Sonoma 5 speed?

Does not have a neutral safety switch , it has a clutch inhibit switch. It is located at the top of clutch pedal and is threaded into a bracket or is on the rod that goes from clutch peadl to master cylinder.

I started my car, drove it and parked then shut it down. car would not start turning key. nothing would happen. pushed it a bit then popped it in 2nd gear as it is a 5 speed and it runs fine. car has a...

Sounds like the neutral safety switch is going bad. Next time it does this to you with the engine off and the selector in neutral pop the clutch by pushing it down all the way then letting your foot slide off to the side so it's pops up and then see if you can start it. If this works you need to adjust the clutch and or replace the neutral safety switch on the transmission.

My 2004 elantra gt (5 speed) will not start. When i push in the clutch, it acts as if the clutch was not pushed in at all. after a few minutes of manipulating the clutch in and out, it will finally start....

It's probably a loose wire or adjusting nut on the clutch switch. Check and adjust it. Look under the dash on top of the clutch pedal arm there's a simple push button switch like the brake light switch. Even if you need a new switch it's only $10.

1989 Toyota Tercel 5 speed stick trouble starting

sounds like your clutch safety switch, the switch that keeps the vehicle from starting unless clutch pedal is depressed, is not working.. the correct thing to do would be to buy a new one.. on the other hand cutting the wires and wiring them together will work just fine.. but keep in mind the vehicle will then start in gear with out pushing in the clutch pedal so use extra precaution when starting if you decide to take this route.. hope i could help
