Hi I have a 1999 peugeot 206. The car will drive normally then it will rev quite high. I then take my foot off the accelerator pedal and put in the clutch and the throttle stays open. I've checked the throttle cable and it seems to be fine, the cable retaining clip is operating fine? Any suggestions? Is it an expensive fix?

Check that the throttle return spring is in tact. If not connected or broken, replace it.

The clutch acting system is hydraulical, (clutch hydraulic system).
Your clutch pedal master cylinder is weak, and needs to be replaced or repaired by gasket kit replacement. Also the clutch slave cylinder can be used, and needs to be repaired (by gasket kit replacement), or replaced. The clutch system must be bled after carrying out work on the hydraulic clutch mechanism.

High revs in park and neutral

What is the car? This sounds like it could be a throttle position sensor, (TPS). This monitors how hard you are pressing the gas pedal and if it is faulty it won't be reading the pedal movement correctly. Other symptoms are uneven idle and the acceleration isn't smooth or even.

Peugeot 206 stalling, either cuts off or I floor the gas pedal

When you "floor the gas pedal" the computor goes into a bypass mode (emergency mode). This honestly sounds a lot like a problem I ran into a while back on a Dodge truck. Problem was a cracked intake manifold (plastic). Short version: vacuum leak.

Peugeot 206 XS Can't accelerate above 1000 rpm at any gear

The very first thing you need to do here is have the engine control module scanned for fault codes with an OBD2 fault code reader or scan tool. Once you have the fault codes then you can diagnose the cause by the fault code or codes received.

Is the check engine light on all the time or it is it off?

I know same problem happening in another Peugeot was told he has a tubro problem but his check engine light is on all the time but accidentally it goes off sometimes for few days.

Do you see alot of heat/air or smoke coming out when you open the oil chamber?

Probably oil leakage going to a sensor?

Anything to do with the pistons seals?

Bout a week after getting my 2009 crv i noticed every time i let off the accelerator the car will appear to downshift sometimes it is quite a rough downshift it has done this for the last 8 months. Dealeri...

the car is fitted with a fuzzy logic gearbox, computer controlled within the engine management system.it will try to make you drive as economically as possible taking into account the gas pedal possition/road speed and load.it will also adapt to your driving skills.
so if you drive in town all the time it will change at higher revs and out of town, if you accelerate gently, lower down the rev range.Try this.without using the gas pedal put the car in drive and let the car do the work,it will accelerate on its own upto 4th gear.
then try again, from stop, keeping your foot about 1/3rd down on the gas and let the car do the work try not to move your foot.then, if you can, drive using only a max of 1/3rd gas pedal all the time and you will find within 100 miles the car has adapted to this and your gas mileage will go thru the roof. also the car will adapt to high grade gas.adjusting engine output to match.
