Rear window washers working

Very little washer fluid getting to rear screen although system is full.
Pump makes a noise ? but not in conjunction with the steering wheel arm.
Where is the pump located and how can you get to it?

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

Hi are you sure the rear washer bottle is full,   the fill point is located on the right hand side in the guttering when you open the rear boot lid. the pump is located behind the rear bumper, but if all is ok you may find that the filter is blocked ( the little black seal that the pump sits in) regards mark

I have a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser. I could hear the washer pump working but no fluid was coming out. We blew the lines with an air compressor and air came through all nozzles, that did not solve the problem. Long story short, we discovered the turbine in the pump was foaming up the fluid that was in the tank. We emptied the fluid (possibly bad batch of fluid) put straight water in the tank and the washers are now working fine. Unfortunately we dont know when the fluid was filled last or the batch number, we only know that it was the blue. I will buy new fluid tomorrow. It is unfortunate that a 1.99 bottle of fluid could cause so much problems and expenses for some. Hope this helps someone.

Hatch window washer jet not working 2016 Ford Explorer Sport

If the hatch window washer jet is not working in your 2016 Ford Explorer Sport, there could be a few possible causes. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the fluid level: First, make sure that the windshield washer fluid reservoir is filled with fluid. If it is empty or low, the washer system won't work properly.
  2. Inspect the hose: Check the hose that connects the washer fluid reservoir to the hatch window washer jet. It may be clogged or disconnected.
  3. Check the washer jet: Inspect the hatch window washer jet for any signs of damage or blockage. You can use a pin or a small piece of wire to clear any blockages.
  4. Check the fuse: If the washer pump is not working, check the fuse for the washer system. The fuse may have blown, and you will need to replace it.
  5. Check the washer pump: If the fuse is fine, check the washer pump. The pump may have failed, and you will need to replace it.
If none of these steps work, it may be best to take your Ford Explorer Sport to a certified mechanic to diagnose and fix the issue.

2005 Tahoe rear windshield wiper inoperative in dash panel position 1or2

Rear Wiper/Washer System Components
The rear wiper/washer system consists of the following components:
• Rear wiper/washer switch
• Window wiper module-rear
• Window washer pump-rear
• RR WIPER 15A fuse
• RR WPRB 25A fuse
Rear Wiper/Washer System Operation
The rear wiper module controls rear wiper motor operation. Battery voltage supplied to the module is used to operate the wiper motor in all modes and to return the rear wiper arm to the park position after the ignition is turned off. Accessory voltage supplied to the rear wiper/washer switch is used to supply the rear window wiper and washer switch signal circuits. In wiper switch positions 1 and 2 the wiper switch signal circuit voltage level to the wiper motor module determines the wiper motor delay interval. The rear window washer pump supply voltage circuit is used to provide the operating voltage for the rear washer pump for as long as the rear washer switch is pressed. The rear window washer switch signal circuit is used as a wash signal to the rear wiper motor module to operate the wipers during the rear wash operation.

Did you replace the rear wiper module ?

2006 Malibu maxx front or back washer pumps will not work. pulled both pumps out and made sure both work. I have pulled all fuses, relays out replace them all. Both pumps work off Separate switches.

Replacing parts just to replace them wont fix a bad wire or part. Better to use a voltmeter and ohn meter to check if your getting power to the wires. You may have a bad connection or bad switch on the column for the pumps. Without checking the circuits it will behard to tell what it is thats wrong. Find a wiring diagram and trace the wires and components.

I need to know where to put the fluid for the rear wipers.

The same tank that holds the front wiper washer fluid holds the rear. If your rear washer is not working, it could be one of 2 things.....

1- your washer fluid tank is low. Most car manufacturers design the tank so the rear washers stop getting fluid first to remind you to fill the tank.

2- there is a clog in your rear washer system or the pump is not working. Your problem sounds like your pump is working, so first top off your washer fluid tank, then if after about 30 seconds of trying (it takes a while to get back there), try to first unplug the rear washer by scrubbing with a toothbrush and hot water. Next, follow the hose to see if it is pinched somewhere or broken.

On my 06 equinox the rear window fluid is empty and I cant find how to refil it

The fluid for the rear washer just comes from the front fluid container. If it is not coming out through your rear squirter, try and hold the lever that makes it spray for about 10 seconds. If it is still not working, there may be either a blockage in the lines (if you live in a cold climate it could be frozen), or the line may be broken or disconnected, or the pump that supplies washer fluid to the rear window could be burned out, or the fuse could be blown.

If you activate the rear window washer, do you hear any pumps making any noises? If it is making noises, then the pump works, meaning either the line is frozen, broken, or disconnected.
If you do not hear pump noises, then it is either your fuse for the pump, the pump itself, or perhaps even the switch (which is less likely)

All of these solutions are only going to help if you make sure that the washer fluid container is full :)

MY REAR WIPER AND WASHER DON'T WORK

Check your fuse...for the rear wipers...Now as for the fluid..make sure it's full, because it may not be coming from the front one..you may have a jug located in the back..And if your fuse is good, and you have power to the moter, and the washer fluid pump....Then the washer fluid pump is bad...And you may need a Rear windshield wiper motor...

2000 dodge durango/rear window washer fluid

well, i don't know if it was much of a solution. I figured out there was only one resevoir for the front and rear washer fluid...located the hose going to the rear and disconnected it from the electric pump attaced to the resevoir. Once the hose was disconnected i activated the pump and the fluid shot out of the pump indicating it was working. So, i figured it must be some kinda blockage in the hose line...so, i pushed air through the line in hopes that it might work to clear it out...well, don't know if that was the trick but when i reconnected the hose it worked!
