I have a 1993 Honda accord, and after the car is on for 5 minutes, the idle gets really low (around 500 rpm), and it feels like the car is going to stall. Hasn't stalled yet and I would like to fix this before it does... Please help
Near the throttle body there is an adjusting screw(flat head) for air fuel mixture, it's on a deep cavity sometimes with a cover, adjust counterclockwise will increase the idle.
I have a 1992 Accord EX and mine started stalling sometimes when coming to a stop (in neutral), especially when turning into a parking area while switching from gear 2 to neutral at around 10-15 MPH.
Sometimes it'll stall from gear 3 to neutral while going 35 MPH too. A mechanic replaced the throttle body and that fixed it. It was extremely dirty.
To correct this problem get a can of throttle valve cleaner (it is made by CRC) from the local auto parts store, spray it into the air intake of the engine until you have used about half the can, you will need to hold the idle up while you do this, it will try to stall, after this shut the engine down and disconnect the Negative (-) battery cable for 5 minutes. The intake is now clean, if you continue to have the idle speeds problems you may need to seek the help of a professional.
