I have noticed recently that my oil light has been coming on when I stop my car at a stop light, etc. It doesn't come on when I first start the car, but after I have been driving for about 15 minutes. Additionally, after I drive the car for about 1/2 an hour, the light stops coming on when I stop. Also, it only seems to do it when the outside temperature is less than 50 degrees. This past week, until today, the morning temperature was greater than 50, no light. This morning's low was 48, light comes on. The mornings the light came on, it did not when I drove home from work when the temperature was much warmer.
Have you checked your oil level? How long since you have had it changed and a new filter installed? if both these things are good you either have a bad Oil Pressure Sending unit or a bad Oil Pump. I would bet on the Sending Unit.

the oil pressure sensor is located by the oil filter thay do go bad replace it and see if the light stops
if the das says in the display change oil turn key to on position press gass peddle to the floor 3 times quickly that should reset the service notice let me know if this helped
Sorry to say the oil light may be for low oil pressure, not necessarily low oil level. If the oil pressure is low, you are wearing out the bearings and engine parts at a very fast pace.
In most cases the flickering light means the oil pressure is dropping below 5psi. The actual problem could be a faulty pressure switch, or the engine could really have low oil pressure. And that would mean lower engine damage with the bearings or other parts.
There may be a misunderstanding here. Yes the warning light comes on when the oil pressure drops below 5psi. If the light comes on and the switch is working correctly, the oil pressure is not good. Any problem with the pump or the screen would make the pressure not good. If the oil pressure has been checked with a mechanical gauge and it is above 20psi, the switch or the wiring could be faulty. You would need to have the pressure checked to know.
This could be two unassociated problems; the flickering oil light can indicate that the pressure sensor for the idiot light is failing- this is not uncommon, the other can be a failed temperature sensor sensor on the main radiator.
The low oil pressure condition may also be indicative of a worn engine part or parts.
It would make sense to have the actual oil pressure checked in a shop to see if it is in the normal range which should lay between ~30 & 60 pounds depending on engine RPMs and engine temperature.
The idiot lights trigger at around 4-5 pounds and this is really pretty late for a warning; if the pressure is actually that low, not only lubrication is too little but the cooling effect of the circulating oil is inadequate.
If it was my car, I would replace both sensors before getting too worried.
The cost of these together (parts only) should be well under $50 US.
