SOURCE: service engine soon light came on and later that day turned off

The reason for the light to come on an the after you have switched the vehicle off and back on again and the engine light stays dead is because the control units of the vehicle will reset when the ignition is switched off for 10sec. If the light stays off the it might be that the car got a wrong reading from a sensor and caused the engine light to come on. If it was a serious problem the light would have come on again

A few days ago the check engine light turn on in my 2004 Chrysler Sebring and I got the code P0137. The light went off the next day but I still took the car into the dealer and they changed out the O2...

COULD HAVE SHORT IN WIRING CIRCUIT OR PCM PROBLEMS.IT WOULD NOT BE SAFE TO DRIVE CAR WITH O2 SENSOR FAULT. BECAUSE FUEL MIXTURE WOULD BE TOO RICH CAUSING CATALYTIC CONVERTER DAMAGE CAUSING IT TO OVERHEAT GET RED HOT UNDER CAR CAUSE FIRE AND YOU WOULD HAVE A LOT OF FUEL CONSUMPTION .I WOULD NOT DRIVE CAR.BETTER TO USE A RENTAL CAR FOR LONG TRIP GET CAR CHECK OUT AGAIN AT THE DEALERSHIP.

Symptons o2 sensors

If your O2 sensors are malfunctioning, the main symptom would be that the Check Engine light will come on. On some vehicles, an O2 sensor circuit shorted to ground can cause a no-start problem.
If the "Check Engine" or "Service Engine Soon" light is on and there is a code for the O2 sensors, I would like to also advise you that many O2 sensor codes are not caused by the O2 sensors themselves. In many cases, the O2 sensors are only REPORTING the problem. for example, a code P0171 "Oxygen Sensor Lean" code is rarely ever caused by the O2 sensor. It is usually caused by a vacuum leak or a failed Mass Airflow sensor (MAF) or Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor (MAP) or a bad fuel injector. In these cases, repairing the real reason that the engine is running lean will fix the O2 Sensor code without replacing the O2 sensor.

The engin light is service soon part pv154

P0154 is an OBDII code for a 'lazy' O2 sensor, it is not switching fast enough for the ECU to adjust parameters when managing your engine-you probably are over 100,000 miles now, they get a coating on them that makes them react slower than expected-time to replace, they run about $50 and are pretty easy to change.

Service Engine soon light on - diagnostic code says o2 sensor. What is an O2 sensor and is it hard to replace

You'll need to give us the specific code, in the format P0xxx. Just saying "O2 sensor" doesn't mean anything. It could be the heater circuit, fuse, o2 sensor itself, etc. Changing an O2 sensor isn't too hard but you may not need to replace it/them.

Please report back with the code or look it up at http://www.check-engine-light.com

I have a 2000 buick lesabre. The fix engine soon

It NEVER was the camshaft sensor! Unless, you've removed the engine lately, which I doubt.
RUN to Advance Auto Parts and buy a can of "SeaFoam" and add to your gas tank per instructions...drive at least 100 miles and the problem should go away...IF it doesn't you'll have to replace the O2 sensors in the exhaust system...Any good mechanic should be able to do this for much less $$ than the dealership DO NOT go to the dealer for repairs!
Good Luck

Engine light won't turn off, replaced o2 sensors, same code p0154

unhook the battery for about 15 minutes and hook it back up... that should clear any codes and reset the light. if you have an anti-theft radio make sure you know the code for it and how to enter it.

Service Engine soon light Code P0133

I just came from an Autozone, and then spoke with 2 Hyundai dealership service departments and they all three stated the P0113 code is the Intake Air Temperature sensor (IAT, also referred to as the Mass Air Pressure - MAP - sensor) on the engine, not an O2 sensor found in the exhaust system.
