2004 Envoy won't turn over and guages don't work

We ran the battery dead on our 2004 Envoy. After trying to charge the battery the car still would not turn over. Some of the dash lights and service lights work but none of the guages work. The radio doesn't work but the tempature guages do work. There is not a click or anything when trying to start the car. I took the battery to the local auto parts store and they charges the battery completely. Cleaned the terminals and still the same thing has happened. I check every fuse and none look to be blown. Not sure how to check the relay fuses? I put the screw driver test on the starter and it turned over. Is there anything I can do or is this a computer issue. Thanks. Gary

Check and make sure that both battery connections have a SOLID connection...Make sure they are both clean...If they are not clean take them off and simply take a wire brush to them...If this does not work consult someone else

Would a dead battery stop your key from turning on in a 2003 gmc envoy

Sounds like a flat battery. Just enough to power your lights but not enough to power the starter motor. Try recharging the battery.and check battery connections are good.

1997 gmc sierra. interior light left on, battery dead, jump started, ran for 15 min. tried to restart after shutting off only thing that happened was drivers lock locks and 3 guages, oil , gas, and pressure...

You probably didn't run it long enough to charge up the battery. Put a voltmeter on it and see if it needs charging, or get it charged up, or get another jump and run it for a half hour and then see if battery is charged up enough to start the engine.

If the security light is on or flashing, you may need to reset the security system.

My 2004 Honda Pilot ran fine then a hour later won't start. At first thought battery so we charged up usig one of those chargers you plug in. Lights flicker, and clicking sounds but won't turn

Check batry terminals are secure & free from corosion, check security of earth strap to engine & main power wire on starter, if ok have the batry load tested to ensure it can perform under load as the starter needs a lot of current. Have you tried a jump start?

Check guage light appears when I turn on the defrost and then vehicle hesitates or shuts down.

That's a pretty diverse question - but it actually sounds like there may be an alternator/charging system/battery problem. The defrost function draws a LOT of amperage, and if the battery is weak and/or not getting a charge; the vehicle may stall out.

Check guages light came on , 9 volts on guage,\radio died. charged batt. ran yesterday, today it wont start. battery has 12 v. turns over but no start.no guages work, when key is on. checked fuses,ok. no...

The main problem is the alternator has went out,and the battery voltage dropped to low for it to run. Most likely the computer has lost memory sense the battery was dead,or close to it.I don`t know the year, but this is most likely what happened. The computer would have to be reflashed at the dealership. But be sure to look for a main fuse to be blown, check all fuses, this might have happened, and not the computer.
