Radio amp fuse blows

The fuse (30amp) for the radio amplifiers blows as soon as it is installed. This is with the ignition off and the key out. I disconnected the amplifier and and the fuse still blows with the ignition off. It seems apparent that I have a direct short. There is another fuse listed as the radio (10amp) and it is fine.Any suggestions on where to looking for the short. I considered just replacing the radio but not sure that is the problem since the fuse blows with the ignition off

97mits mirage 1.5 blows 30amp fuse as soon as ignition key hits turnover position? Suspect bad ground

Try disconnecting the wires from the starter and try it again. If it blows the fuse again, then your ignition switch it'self is probably shorted. If it doesn't blow the fuse, your starter is grounded on the inside and needs to be replaced.

Chrysler Concorde 99' radio fuse constantly blowing

Everything isn't stock. The amplifier isn't stock. Is the radio stock? If so what are you using for remote "on" to the amp? Start there.

30 amp Starter/Ignition fuse keeps blowing when i turn the ignition key. The instrumentpanel lights are dim and then the fuse blows.

I am assuming you are talking about the circuit that powers the key switch. I'm showing a fuseable link to the starter relay instead of a fuse.
If it is the circuit that powers the switch, I would disconnect the switch and see if the fuse blows as each circuit is powered one at a time using a jumper wire. You can get 30amp circuit breakers that plug into the fuse slot to use while you are testing circuits.
You may need a repair book or shop manual to find out what is powered by that fuse since it is most everything on the car.

30amp AM 2 fuse blows as soon you turn on the key & car will not start

This is common about this time on these Camrys. I own three. The AM2 fuse is blowing because a coil, capacitor, or supressor has gone bad in the distributor. To test this disconnect the two wire connectors to the distributor. Replace the AM2 fuse. Turn the ignition. If the fuse doesn't blow. The distributor.

No start, blown ignition fuse 30 amp.

If it is the AM2 (30A) fuse that is blowing, check the ignition condenser, capacitor, within the ignition assembly. I just removed it and assembled the ignition back together. I am in the process of ordering a new one from Rock Auto for a total of $2.57. It seems to be a common issue. The condenser is actually a capacitor and the issue is that they internally short.

I had a prolem like this one time a while back. what i did was got the wiring diagram and checked everything that was running through that 30 amp fuse. on the one i was working on it ended up being an injector wire pinched under the valve cover and it didnt short out till the car was driven til it warmed up and expanded after the valve cover gasket was changed. hope this helps!
