I don't think a 1995 3 series has a timing belt. 100% sure if its the inline 6 cylinder.bmw only used timing belts on two engines. (never replaced one) I would first start with a fuel pressure check to start your diagnosis. From there i'd check to see if you are getting spark and maybe even see if your plugs are fouled. If you have fuel pressure and spark, i'd suspect bad gas.(especially if the problem occured soon after filling up). It may be a good idea to do a compression check if you found no fault with the vehicle.

was the timing belt broken?

Are you sure the cams are aligned correctly?

If the belt was broken It may be wise to do a compression test. This should tell you if a valve has bent.

I have an 1995 f150 4.9 4x4. It will not start. it will just keep cranking and cranking. I have spark, I have tried starting fluid and still will not start. I do not know what to check next ????

timings off or timing belt broken slipped remove oil cap try and see if valves are moving.Try removing a couple plugs spray in some gas/starting fluid and replace plugs kinda quickly and attempt to start should fire. if it does exhaust valves are dumping fuel before compression stoke timing issue

95 fordc tauras gl 3.8 engine cranks but wont start has fuel pressure does cap and rotor have anything to do with it or timing belt gone .

cap and rotor affect spark so YES... this could be your concern

you need three things to start your car... Fuel, Spark and Compression PLUS they have to be in time

However, the two options you have are very differnt

No spark will not be similar to a broken timing belt

With no spark or no fuel the engine will sound "normal" when cranking

A broken timing belt would present it self as a FAST crank no start concern

1995 mercury tracer 1.9l wont start after new serpentine belt

The timing belt should not have been affwcted. Sounds like you have everything chk'd and accounted for.. The best way to chk the cam and crank is a compression test.
