1997 Mercury Sable?Replace Driver Side Window

Hello.... I accidently shattered the driver side window, when I, too, had a problem with the window motor suddenly stopping. I can not figure out how to disconnect/reconnect the three-pronged clips (?) that holds the window to the motor assembly in order to replace it. Do you need a special tool to replace those?
[PS... The motor started working again on its own... Aggravation for nothing.]
Thanks.

SOURCE: Driver window will not work

The black boxes inside the fuse box are indeed relays, which will make a clicking noise. The window buttons are merely contact switches, and if they quit operating properly, the window simply won't do anything, but I've never heard any noises come from one when it quit working. The relays can easily be replaced by hand, so go to a local auto parts store to see about purchasing one, and ask them to show you on their computer screen exactly which relay in your fuse panel is the one that controls the window circuits, and replace it yourself. It's very simple.

SOURCE: 1993 Mercury Cougar power window, driver side, will not move

the power window motor needs replacing. check at a salvage yard for a door intact and remove the panel use a hammer and chisel to remove the large rivets that hold the motor in place and cut enough wire so you can test it with a battery before installing in your car to install in your car you will need some small nuts and bolts with lock washers and put a little lock tight on the bolts so they don't come loose Good Luck!

SOURCE: 2003 Mercury Sable headlight bulb replacement

This problem is now resolved, thanks to a prior post by sableowner.

The 2003 Sable has the same headlight assembly and removal/replacement instructions as the 2001 Sable. Once I had this information in hand, bulb replacement was easy.

How do I replace the drivers side window on a 1999 mercury sable?

remove the inner door panel, unhook the window glass from the regulator that lowers and raises the window,, lift it up by hand and glide the window outside the door, towards the outside of the car, it fits easier that direction and leaves more room for play,, install it the same way , from the outside in,, in removing the glass, some have a hole with a vinyl bolt holding them on, and others have a double sided tape, the bolts are easy , the tape is a little tougher,, us a thin putty knife or blade to remove it

97 Sable passenger window will not close. Both driver side and passenger actuator are not working for this window. Looks like I have power to the switch. Tried reversing the up wires with the down...

Hard to believe the fix I have for you but it worked for us and totally surprised us too. We have a 1997 Mercury Sable, power everything and the drivers side window would not go up but all other windows worked fine. I called a car place to see about how much it would cost to fix and he told me to do this......sit in car with car on and have the door open to the window that won't go up, now hold the button in the UP position on the window and slam the door(even might have to have someone slam it for you)....when we did this the window went straight up perfectly and worked fine afterward and for 2 years. So please try it. The guy told us it would work on any power windows in any car because it just jumps the bad part or place in the window thingy lol.....good luck.

How do i replace the driver side mirror on 1999 mercury sable?

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door
