Led display reads starting disabled do to theft system

wouldnt be an anti theft device would it ,go to dealer with cars papers and have it reset

Replace the ign. lock cylinder and chip key to fix it. Or get a new cylinder and put old chip key in it. Connect it to orange wire at the lower part of steering column and with a copy of the original key start car

u need the owners manual. it tells how to change the theft deterrent system.

I've got an even cheaper and easier solution, instead of buying a new cylinder, find that plug and snip the orange wires going to the old cylinder.Then remove the resistor chip from the key and solder each of the the wires to each side. this will fool the car into thinking the correct resistor chip is in place, allowing you to use the original key or any copies with or without resistor chips. i just did this to my caddy and it roared to life! :)

anti-theft module needs to be checked/reprograqmmed also the micro-chip in the key should be checked/tested. Will need to go to the dealership for that.

The easiest thing to do is lock the doors MANUALLY, which will NOT allow the secuity system to arm, Now if your talking about the PASSKEY ANTI THEFT, well bypassing that system is another invlved issue. Hope this helps

Soon All That Will Happen Is You Will Get The Wait 3 Mins And It Will Never Start, A Good Locksmith Can Take Care Of This For You And That Will Save You Some Money. Cause If You Go To The Dealer Ouch They Will Hit You Up. But I Asure This Is How It Will Happen Cause It Is How It Happen To Me

have you tried putting the door key in the door lock and turning to the right this should disable the alarm

I just had this same problem with a '96 . do you have a vats key in your '94? you need to bypass the VATS system. read some of the blogs on this site and it will tell you how to do it. I fixed mine with a $2 resistor from radio shack.
