Windex and newspaper should do. You sure they are water spots and not the glass? When they set out the plastic impregnated in the glass (safety glass), seperates slightly and looks like a water spot or even a bubble. It is a combination of heat & sun rays. May have to live with it or replace the glass.

I.replaced water pump and the thermostat and now.ive got water.leaking from somewhere on the top of the motor any ideas

sure all V6;s love to leak , at the "V" up top , loves to
and is 2 causes, bad gaskets or warped surfaces there.(heads)
can I assume the thermostat housing and pump do not leak now.
to find leaks and yes some are huge challenge
first make sure water (aka coolant AF 50%) is not found in the engine
oil or transmission A./T oil. (seen as green water or milky)

in your case it is to the ground and not to passenger toes (foot well)
leaks to the ground can be lots of places,
to find it use good a new RAD CAP not , 19 years old
get engine fully hot parked. best is idling parked until....
at hot idle 180 to 200F is par.
at this temp the rad PRESSURE IS 15 PSI (LOTS)
AND UNDER PRESSURE ALL LEAKS ARE EASY TO FIND
WARNING SOME LEAKS WILL SQUIRT 3 FT (1M)
AND FOOL ANYONE ONE.
if driving car then hood up wind-age effects move the water to false places. so do only parked tests even wash off old coolant so only fresh leaks are found.

MY GUESS IS (WILD) THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET LEAKS
LOOK USING a FLASH LIGHT 360 DEGREES AROUND THE ENGINE
AVOID FAN, KEY OFF IF NEED BE. now asit leaks.
then make sure all core/freeze plugs on block and heads are no leaking. (under the tranny bell leaks, omg hard to find) but see only under the bell,. sure.
leaks are where you find them , just like finding GOLD
keep an open mind , take your time and it will be found.

Remove cieling water stains from prior leak

use a solution of bleach and use a spray bottle to spray on the stain
just leave it ( no wiping, rubbing etc ) and in a few days the stain will be gone
there is a product on the market that is advertised to remove stains on ceilings but bleach did mine

Hi there. I've got a Suzuki SJ410. The transfer case's gearlever is stuck in neutral. Now i cannot get the main box in any gear.

what tranny, ?
not stating the main transmission makes this hard.
did you depress the clutch?
what year?
what country.?

can you park car, and put the rear on jack stands, tires off earth.
then get it to shift.?
as with any gear boxes, if you are not on flat ground
the gears can lock, due to windup.

A/T tranny with PARK are infamose, for this jive.

in fact, they have TSB covering this on all cars, with this issue.

to do a faster check, left the left rear wheel off the ground,.
shift now?
bingo, you are on track to finding the problem
it can be normal with A/T
the A/T in park locks the rear coupling. of A/T
not true on M/T

sure, if xfr box is in neutral the main box is spinning only air.
by design.

it is easy to wind up any A/T.
ever park in Sanfranciso? on those huge hills.
I took my military driving tests there, its the hardest test in world.
if you wind it up, the shifter locks. even on 2wd cars.
some are inpossible to cure , with no JACK. that is right.
and is why there is a TSB covering this ...
and for sure all 4wd suz, too.

btw 2 , my stock JEEP , 4wd, 02, 5speed
to get in to rev. i must go forward, 1 inch in 1st gear
to allow the Reverse dogs to align. (i fix boxes too...)
in fact, all 3/4/5 speeds do that. all that i owned for 48 years driving.
and so can transfer cases, and in spades.
tell more about your car and answer get 100 times better.

1988 VW GTI 16 valve. How to fix and replace windshield wiper arm(not just blade). It rotates beyond wind shield.

Remove the wiper arm. Switch on the wipers for a 15 seconds or so then switch them off and allow the wiper motor to reach the "Park" position. Re-fit the wiper arm/blade so the blade sits an inch or 2 from the lower edge of the windscreen. Pour some water on the screen or use the screenwashers and try the wipers to see if they still travel beyond the edge of the screen. Small adjustments can be made by lowering the arm towards the bottom edge of the screen by a couple of splines on the shaft. If it still travels beyond the edge of the screen then you may need a replacement linkage as it could be worn. You may be able to buy the linkage only and use your existing motor-I know this is possible with the Sharan but not sure on your model/year.

I'm loosing coolant / heater does not work once coolant level is low / it's been checked by a mechanic and no leaks were found... radiator pressure is fine... what else can I do.. I' still getting low in...

"Mystery leaks" can be very frustrating..You have a leak somewhere, guaranteed. Check all hose connections, hoses, the thermostat housing gasket, the water pump gasket, and the water pump itself (check it last). Try this: park the car overnight inside a garage immediately after driving it while it is still hot. Park it over a large piece of cardboard. Antifreeze is, among other things, oily in nature, and will stain the cardboard where the coolant drips onto it. The areas that get stained are not necessarily the area from which the coolant leaks--water travels along various surfaces until it reaches a low enough spot to drip from, But if you have a stain, even a small one, smell it...if it's antifreeze, check everything again. Sometimes you have a pinhole in a hose so small it is only open and spraying coolant when the system is at temperature and under pressure. Keep looking; you'll find it. If I helped you, please vote/comment, and good luck.
