I have an 07 tundra crew max 5.7 and need to replace the fuel pump, will 1 for an 06 work, is there a good universal one around? I hate to spend 600+ on a pump for a truck w 48k miles. ugh!!!
I am pretty sure they are a different part... I'm assuming you have a fuel pump for an 06 laying around? You could always call your dealer and get the part number for the 5.7 pump and compare it to the part number on your 06 pump. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure they are different and you really won't have a choice but to fork out the $600.
As a side note, however, I would really discourage an aftermarket pump. Toyotas in general really do not like aftermarket parts. While they may work for a little while, they can cause other (seemingly unrelated) problems that eventually trace back to an aftermarket part. Even spark plug wires make all the difference.
