leave ign off with key out 3mins disconnet battery 5 mins reconnett and press lock/ unlock repeatedly until locks cycle through to re sync try this any probs come back to me
usually you should do it for peugeot diesel at 122000 miles along with water pump and the tensioner roller that runs under the cambelt too. But to be on the safe side do it at 100000 and save the fortune.
It took me (DIY job) about 6-8 hours as i wanted to save 450 pounds.
Check the fob battery because if the battery has gone then you can't immobilise the car immobiliser which in turn doesn't let you start the engine however it cranking. open the bonnet and remove the clips of car battery for a good 15-20 minutes and put them back and check your remote key and try to start your car. If nothing happens then let your car diagnosed by a experienced mechanic who is able to read out the ecu codes.

put key in icnition turn on but don"t start engine, press door lock and hold for a few seconds, then turn off,key fob should now work,if not try again, also make sure you have the correct battery in key fob.
I suggest you get one of those manuals people get nowadays to
do it yourself.. My brother use it to repair my car and it's totally repaired now. he got it from. www.reliable-store.com
i have a peugeot 307 number 8 fuse keeps blowing so i have to keep changing the 20 amp fuse please help me i am trying to find out what is causing this
This will save you loads of money and stress ok. Been using this simple solution for about 18 months and still working. On your lock bar (not door lock) but the u shaped bar that the lock latches onto! on pillow of car. Don't laugh ok ha ha ! just rap electrical tape around bar a few times to make it thicker. You might have to experiment by adding or taking layer of tape off. your door should lock ok and door sensor fault will not appear. "YES" its as simple as that ! Tape will wear but its a 2 minute job to redo and the estimated cost will be 50p lol. three garages told me I need new lock fitted and then the thinking light bulb shon so brite! Hope this works matey, good luck. Gaz from Newcastle on Tyne.
trhe ticking noise is the relays, however the most likely cause of this fault is the drivers door wiring, very common Peuegot fault with opening and closing the door the wires within the black plastic sleave start to wear and then contact each other, do you electric windows work? central locking? had any issues with these at all? is there anything electrical that sometimes works and sometimes does not?
Providing no faults on central locking, and battery in key is ok try reprograming key
Switch ignition on
PRESS AND HOLD lock button 10 seconds
Switch ignition off
Remove key
Wait 5 seconds
Check central locking has reset
Hi,just reading with interest" Ianhende's" problem with his 406, I have the same sort of problem with a 2002 406 hdi (110) i.e hazards going off, plus central locking turning on & off whilst driving. have replaced battery, the mechanic is thinking that it is to do with a faulty door lock, any ideas out there ????

you either have a faulty central locking motor or the wiring harness may be damaged.
Remove the door panel and check if you have a live feed to the central locking motor when you use the fob to lock or unlock. If you have power, then it will most likely be the motor that is at fault.
