A bad cam sensor will cause vehicle to shut off while driving, and cause a hard time starting. but this usually sets a trouble code p0340. scan vehicle to see if any codes come up. after it is fixed, erase codes with a obd2 scanner. if you do not have one, you can go to any auto parts store and they will erase codes for free.

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 8Cyl4.7L When when driving over 50 miles per hour will lose all power whats wrong?

When you say it loses power, do you mean electrical power or engine power ?
You would need to look at the fuse boxes for a loss of electrical power, and use a scanner or code reader to check the computer for trouble codes for a loss of engine power.

Hi, i have a grand cherokee 5,7 from 2006. The lights in the instrument panel, and the exterior lights keep flashing when the engine in turned on. I cannot adjust the lights in the instument panel neither....

I have a similar problem - every once in a while all of my dash lights flash on like the car is trying to conk out/stall (I have a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee) - the car has no loss of power and runs fine, just all of the dashboard lights and warnings come on like its going to stall. Happens on dry days, wet days, cold days, warm days - at least 3 times a month. trouble is, because its intermittent no one can find the problem.

1995 JEEP CHEROKEE COUNTRY HAS BEEN STALLING AND THEN I AM HAVING TROUBLE GETTING IT TO RESTART. IT ALWAYS DOES RESTART JUST MAY TAK E A FEW MINTUES TO 20 MINUTES OR SO BEFORE IT WILL. NO CHECK ENGINE...

Does it die coming to a stop or die when driving. Will it restart if holding down on gas pedal a little? May be carbon on throttle body. Bad crank sensor will cause this also. Doesnt always set a code. Loss of fuel pressure will cause this with no code.

1993 Jeep Cherokee starts when cold. Runs short distance.

It can possibly be the crank position sensor mounted on the top of the bell housing on the passenger side of the vehicle causing the problem. I have replaced a few of these for the same reason.

Service 4 wheel drive, service electronic brake warning

This is caused by by a bad ignition switch. According to the dealer the ignition switch contains an antenna that many of the sensors use to communicate with the vehicle, as well as the key fob. When the switch starts going bad the vehicle computer losses communication with these sensors and starts producing codes which include the 4wd and the electronic brakes. My fiance has had the same issues with her Grand Cherokee as well as the key fob not working, the remote start not working, the service engine light comes on, the door chime will sound when the key is NOT in the ignition and the lights are NOT on, as well as numerous codes usually relating to loss of communication with one system or another. All of which are fixed once the ignition switch is replaced. Unfortunately, this usually only fixes the problem for a short time (weeks or maybe a few months) before the piece of junk ignition switch fails again and it all starts over.
