jeep can be a problem some have a relock . I weige the top of the door and use a long rod to push lock button. some times I use a door strap

If it is a nissan remote. hold both lock and unocl buttons on together for 3 seconds

Its supposed to beep once when the doors are locked, giving an audible confirmation that your anti theft is armed. The parking lights will most likely flash as well to give a visual confirmation. If you have the over head computer in this model the horn confirmation option can be turned on or off in the normal settings menu.

Sounds like the actuator went out. There normally run 40-60 for the part and does not take long to replace normally 30 minutes.

check the wires that run from the door to the body near the hinges. they always break inside that rubber boot.

I don't think you need a wiring diagram.
Jeep had alot of problems with the lock accuator in the tailgate.
