Driving home from work and the car just turned off. there were no warning signs, it just stopped. when i tried to start the vehicle, it sounded as if it would start, but it wont turn over. towed the care home check all the fuses, bought a new battery. car will still not turn over. any ideas

The chime is going off to alert you to the charging system problem, have it tested.

Sounds as if forward driving gears are shot. Different gears make vehicle move in reverse. I would ask if transmission fluid level when checked is in the operation range or full.

Beeping can often be a reminder that the car is due for a service, or that there is a fault with the vehicle and it is trying to remind you to visit a service centre. Check your dash for any warning lights or service messages.

Have you checked the alternator? Check engine light on? Every vehicle is different but if the charge system isnt functioning or wearing out, certain accessories that have a high drain will not function as a warning sign that the charge system is failing. Were their other warning signs that you might have missed? Low power to dash lights or even head lights.... stereo resetting? My guess would be coil pack or alternator

It is really confusing when different people have different explanations for this ?? Sign . I had the same warning sign today flashing on My Mitsubishi Outlander 2016 MY17 and I found conflicting explanations on different online forums which was not satisfactory. I even called local and National Mitsubishi customer services and I was told to bring down the vehicle to the service station and they also said that they don’t know what the ?? signs indicates . Pretty bizarre ! Pertinent to mention here that this warning ?? sign states displaying on the panel this morning when I was driving from home to work and I was running low on ?? as low fuel warning started displaying at the same time . Anyway later in the afternoon I went to refuel my car at a nearest petrol station and topped it up and turned on the ignition and the ?? sign was no more displaying on the panel. I also read that this ?? Sign can displaying indicating low tyre pressure or in my case low fuel pressure . I think there is nothing to be worried about unless the ?? Sign keeps displaying .

you can check the crysler website for any recall
debris on the outside of the cyl. won't do it but
before you sign the death certificate you can
try turning the engine back + forth with 1/2" or
3/4" drive socket + breaker bar and try to see
or hear where it has bound up also remove the
belt I've seen frozen a/c compreser or ps pump
give the same symtems hope this helps

There is no carb, either throttle body or fuel injection.If it was fuel related it would not cause all the lights to come on.Sounds like electrical and will have to be tracked down and diagnosed. Your computer may have gone out but that has to be diagnosed.

sounds like the EGR valve is sticky, take a small screw driver and tap the valve when the engine is at idle and you will notice a change in the way the engine runs, if the vehicle smooths out disconnect the valve and drive the vehicle and it should not cut off please let me know and dont forget to rate me!!

You're alternator has gone bad and the vehicle was running on battery power. The "clicking" sound is your now dead battery that does not have enough power to turn over the starter. You might also want to check your power steering pump for leak. This is a know problem with early LS400s and will most likey be the cause of the alternator failure. I just dropped $1050.00 to fix the very same promblems you have.
