replacing severe - cebd8d08-0b93-4be4-a8ba-b0eb7c57df3a.jpgCheck connections under passenger seat.
The SRSCM sets DTC B1322 if
there is any fault in Weight Classification System.

In contrast to the initial
one-stage airbag systems, newer restraint systems involve complex logic to
select, or alternatively suppress, various levels of safety system deployment.

Inherent to an advanced
Restraint System is the ability to discern information regarding passenger
occupancy.

It is intended that these
inputs be provided through the weight measuring OC system.

The object of such safety
system is to reduce the risk and level of injuries by automatically adapting the
airbag(s) and seat belt pretensioner to the driving status of the vehicle, its
occupants, and the crash severity.

The current OC system covered
in this specification continually senses and classifies the front passenger side
seat.

OCS is utilizing a robust
weight measuring technology. Thus, if any of the following conditions occur,
'command zero' and 'accuracy check' should be performed

The weight classification ECU
or any of the sensors is replaced.

The vehicle is brought to the
repair shop due to an accident or a crash even though the severity seems to be
minor.

The passenger airbag ON
indicator is off (not illuminated) when the passenger seat is not
occupied.

The passenger airbag ON
indicator is delayed more than 10 seconds before turning off when an adult
passenger is seated in the right front seat.

The passenger seat is removed
from the vehicle and re-assembled.

Any accessories (side table,
seatback table and seat cover, etc) are replaced or installed.

1999 Ford Explorer,Door ajar light & Chime goes on & off while driving, int lights & auto headlights won't shut off after car off & all doors closed.

Your best bet would be to find a Tech like this guy , with the right diagnostic equiment . Door Locks Go Crazy 1 Unless you know how to do automotive electrical testing . Your door ajar switch is a input to a body control module . or GEM as ford calls thiers .
Door Locks Go Crazy 2 Your auto lights are controlled pretty much the same .
Electric Testing Techniques You Need to Know

Do you know what DTC"S are ? diagnostic trouble codes ! You probably have a door ajar switch problem . You need a factory or professional type scan tool to check these codes

  • VERIFY parking lamp operation. If OK, REPLACE the light sensor amplifier. If any parking lamp concerns exist, Parking, Rear and License Lamps REFER to Parking, Rear or License Lamps.

Do you see how complex these systems can be for someone that doesn't deal with these problems on a daily base's ! Check for codes an if there are any , doing the diagnostic's associated with it . Without doing the diagnostic's you could replace parts all day long an not fix the problem .

Where is the courtesy light switch in the drivers door on a 1998 Navigator

courtesy light switch , is door ajar switch an it's part of the door lock actuator . Light on coming on ? Not going off ? The ajar switch is a input to the GEM module , fords BCM - body control module . The GEM will energize a relay to turn on the lights .
The GEM will illuminate the interior lamps when any door is open or ajar. The interior lamps are; the dome lamp, the rear cargo lamp, the door courtesy lamp and the side rail lamps. The courtesy lamps will shut off when the doors are closed and the illuminated entry feature is not active or when the vehicle speed is greater than 5 mph (8 km/h). The interior lamps will not be reactivated until the vehicle speed is less than 3 mph (5 km/h) and a new door open warning lamp switch is received.
The GEM controls the interior lamps illuminated entry function by activating the interior lamp relay.
Mite be a good idea to have it check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes .

2002 ford explorer xlt overhead lights not turning off. I have replaced the 2 front door ajar switches and everything worked. However, I pulled up and parked and the overhead lights would not go off.

Which overhead lights ? Just the dome lamps . If there is no door ajar light lit on the dash . There could be a problem with the G.E.M - Generic Electronic Module . You should have it check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . Need a special scan tool ,a OBD2 code reader won't do it.

2002 lincoln towncar door ajar light s stay on after minor accident. Only goes off when in drive. Can't find the fuse. I have to disconnect the battery

You have one or more door ajar sensor switches that are defective, have the BCM (Body control module) scanned to see which door is causing it, the light can be turned on by any of the 4 doors. The sensor is located inside the door on the door latch mechanism, there is no fuse as it is a ground circuit.

Door ajar switch is bad or you have a wiring problem ! Which door ?
B1322 Door Ajar Driver Circuit Short to Ground GEM/CTM REFER to Section 417-02 . B1323 Door Ajar Lamp Circuit Failure GEM/CTM REFER to Section 413-01 . B1325 Door Ajar Lamp Circuit Short to Battery GEM/CTM REFER to Section 413-01 . B1330 Door Ajar RF Circuit Short to Ground GEM/CTM REFER to Section 417-02 . B1334 Decklid Ajar Rear Door Circuit Short to Ground GEM/CTM REFER to Section 417-02 . B1338 RR Door Ajar Circuit Short to Ground GEM/CTM REFER to Section 417-02 . Inspection and Verification
  1. NOTE: The generic electronic module (GEM)/central timer module (CTM) must be reconfigured upon replacement. Refer to the scan tool help screen on the configuration card to program the tire size and axle ratio.
The warning lamps are a GEM/CTM controlled system; refer to Section 419-10 .
  1. Verify the customer concern by operating the system in question.
  1. Visually inspect for the following obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.

    Visual Inspection Chart Mechanical Electrical
    • Switch(es)
    • Fuse(s)
    • Damaged wiring harness
    • Loose or corroded connections
    • Circuitry
    • Bulb
  1. If the concern remains after the inspection, connect the scan tool to the data link connector (DLC) located beneath the instrument panel and select the vehicle to be tested from the scan tool menu. If the scan tool does not communicate with the vehicle:
    • check that the program card is properly installed.
    • check the connections to the vehicle.
    • check the ignition switch position.
  1. If the scan tool still does not communicate with the vehicle, refer to the New Generation STAR Tester manual.
  1. Perform the DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST. If scan tool Tester responds with:
    • CKT914, CKT915 or CKT70 = ALL ECUS NO RESP/NOT EQUIP, refer to Section 418-00 .
    • NO RESP/NOT EQUIP for GEM/CTM, go to Pinpoint Test E.
    • SYSTEM PASSED, retrieve and record the continuous diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), erase the continuous DTCs and perform self-test diagnostics for the GEM/CTM.
  1. If the DTCs retrieved are related to the concern, go to the GEM/CTM Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index to continue diagnostics.
  1. If no DTCs related to the concern are retrieved, proceed to Symptom Chart to continue diagnostics.

The best place to start is take it an have it checked for DTC'S -diagnostic trouble codes ! Not with a code reader ,as these just read OBD2 codes .Not Body control module codes >
