SOURCE: My 1985 XJ6 Jaguar sunroof

The sunroof motor is accessable from the trunk. A winder handle for emergency use was provided when the car was new but you can use another tool to do the job. Take off the rear bulkhead panel and the motor will be visable and you will see the shaft to turn the sunroof manually. Good luck!

2002 Jaguar XType Sun-roof one-touch operations reset

I had this issue and found the solution around, worth sharing and it takes 30 seconds:

Press the sunroof switch forward to move the sliding roof panel into the tilted position.

Release the sunroof switch.

Press and hold the sunroof switch forward until the sliding roof panel moves slightly. This may take 30 seconds or more.

Release the sunroof switch.

Immediately press and hold the sunroof switch in the forward position. The sliding roof panel will move down and rearward to the open position, and then forward into the closed position. Do not release the sunroof switch until the sliding roof panel has stopped completely.

Your sunroof panel should now be aligned.

Why will 06 jaguar s-type sunroof not completely close -stuck?

most likely they control mechanism is a bit stiff/dry , if the roof will move forward spray wd40 up each side runners etc go back and forwards a bit at a time ,this should lubricate the mechanism and hope fully save ypou having the roof stripped out to solve the problem

1996 Jaguar xj6 sunroof will not close you can hear motor running, how can you manual close it?

If you remove any gear that is coupling it to the motor you should be able to slide it back to where you want. I would put gear back just to hold it in place and keep it from moving. But you do have to replace that gearbox for future operation.

I have a sunroof that only works by holding the button down not automatic any more on a 2002 x type jag

That happens when you turn off the key switch, before the sunroof closes or opens at full, try this, with the key power switch in on, run manually full to open and return to close, then, exactly when the sunroof is fully closed, turn off at the same time the key switch, maybe you need to try more than once, must be exactly at the same time. good luck

2001 Jaguar S Type 4.0 Sunroof trouble

You have plastic gears in the roof mech that tend to chip and break over time.

Take plenty of photos as you go and take your time.

Im sure you will be able to find a solution .
