My truck was stolen and they removed the catalytic converters, I have been trying to crank it in order to get it to the shop but the engine just turn over and over and dont act like it's getting gas or firing could you tell me if the catalytic conters have anything to do with the cranking problem
When they cut the cat out they may have damaged the wiring that goes to your fuel pump. When you turn the key on (not cranking) you should hear the fuel pump turn on for 1/2 second. That is the prime sequence. If you don't hear the pump run, check around where they cut out the cat.Chances are you will find cut wires. Any car/truck will run without a cat..but it will be loud!

after thinking your problem over I feel that you have a bad OX sensor. please don't ever go to that ford dealer again and don't waste money on catalitic converters you don't need. When was the last time you had a simple tune-up with filter changes? Try that first.

If you have the 6.0 ltr diesel, then check the bowl where the 2nd fuel filter is, see if there is fuel in the bowl, if not then either your fuel pump which is on the frame under the driver's side in the water seperator/ heater has gone bad, or your filters could be bad, or the fuse to the fuel pump or the pump shut off switch which is located on the side panel at your feet on the passengers side, there is a reset button, make sure it has not popped and press it down, hopefully this helps, I had the same prob.
