1988 Jeep Cherokee turns over but won't start

Originally started with 150 miles in on a tank of gas the Jeep would not start. Then, once filled again, happened at 60 miles into a full tank of gas. Just last night, happened at 23 miles into a full tank of gas. Each time, I refill the tank and the Jeep eventually starts. Any thoughts?

1996 JEEP CHEROKEE READS 0 MILES TO SERVICE VECHILE WILL NOT START SOUNDS LIKE IT WANTS TO TURN OVER BUT WONT WHAT IS IT? VECHILE HAS GAS,THE LIGHTS ARE FLICKERING OFF AND ON.

0 miles to service is just the main reminder, this tells you when to change the oil, you just need to reset it but has nothing to do with the no start, you will need to test for fuel, have someone bang on the bottom of the fuel tank while you try to start it, the most common reason is the fuel pump goes bad and by banging the bottom of the tank while starting it shakes the pump and makes a contact to get pump going again, if it starts then the pump is bad and needs to be replaced, good day,

Engine quit when stopped at stop light. Acted as if it was choking then died. Tried restarting. Turns over strong, no start. Thought maybe no gas. Added gas after about 30 minutes. Started first try....

Sounds like the fuel pump is going out. Replace the filter first, as it's only $10. If that doesn't fix it, then it's probably the pump, which is $250.

1996 Jeep Country Wagon. Replaced fuel filter and

does your jeep run rough? idle is real low? and when you are driving and push the gas hard it doesnt want to move? if so it is most likely the mass air flow sensor. i had to replace that 2 or 3 times on my 1999 jeep cherokee

88 jeep starts sometimes

If you keep your tank under 1/2 rust can form on inside of the tank causing the fuel filter to get clogged. I'ld check that first. When your remove filter, if it's a rusty color gas that comes out, I'ld bet that's your problem.

98 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4X2 suddenly dies .....

It sounds like you have some **** in the gas tank that is being drawn to the pickup blocking it.
Have seen this and because it seems so random, it can drive ya nuts.

You might carry a coffee can with you and pull the line from the fuel rail when this happens stick it in the can and just have someone turn the key on for a few seconds.
Beware though, it comes out with force.

Also possible is a failed fuel pressure regulator.
Those aren't expensive and . . . well, not very good either.

1988 jeep cherokee

do you have to wait a while after it cuts off before you can start it again? If so, it is probably the crankshaft location sensor which is mounted on the bell housing @ the front of the transmission, driver side, up rather high, it can be reached from below, it has one plug in wire and I believe one or maybe 2 mounting bolts.
