My 1993 VW Golf, will not turn over at all.

run fault codes and check for cam/crank position sensor. Check that the cam shaft is turning ( broken timing belt0 After changing the battery you should use a code reader to reset the CPU as the program may be corrupted and the Immobiliser is stopping it from starting.

On frist attemp to start car, cranks then dies after few seconds ckd fuel rail , had no pressure , replaced fuel pump regulator , no help !

do you hear the fuel pump turn on when you turn the key to the run position? If not the check the fuel pump relay.

If the car will start and run for a few seconds then die, It may well be the crank position sensor.

My car wont stay started when im trying to crank the engine?

If it turns over and almost seems to start I would inspect the timing belt by removing the top cover. It may need to be replaced due to damage or from becoming stretched and/or loose. Next I would check the fuel pump/fuel pump relay. If it will run for a few seconds then sputter and die, try replacing the fuel filter.

How do you set the timing on a 95 eagle talon

You are correct, the timing belts are set incorrectly. Google the correct installation steps and follow the procedure exactly. The usual issues are that the oil pump and cams are out of phase. The cam sprockets can and do move a tooth or two when loose. The top balance shaft gets out of phase as well (see the small belt).

Car backfired and died. would crank (very fast) and either not start or start and die. Let it sit for a few days. Now will start and run, "ticking" from engine and water in oil. Head gasket or timing...

If you replace your head gasket, you'll have to replace your timing belt too...

NEVER re-use an used timing belt!

Water in oil, can be a sign of worn head gasket, yes!

Honda Civic 1988 1.5 - will not turn over

timing belt might have not been tight enough a nd it jump a couple of teeth causing the valve to hit the piston. see if you can rotate the engine either way clockwise or counter clockwise if you can re time the engine.

Kia Optima

Is the car flashing any codes. I would look for fuel issues possibly fuel filter, injectors etc. Because these items are easier to check. Otherwise it sounds as if the timing is off on the car. If the Hydraulic tensioner is not replaced this could cause the belt to jump teeth as well. PRETTY SURE YOUR TIMING IS STILL OFF

2002 Nissan Frontier timing belt

Timing belts are found on the 3.3L engines, timing chains are on the 2.4L engines. The 2002 3.3L Timing belt is changed at 105K during the major service. This service can run over one thousand dollars. It is recommended to replace the belt, tensioner and idlers, cam and crank seals, water pump, and both belts when changing the timing belt. That way, you only open up the front of the engine every 105K. Why change the timing belt and have a water pump start leaking only 20K later and ruin the belt with antifreeze? Other items during the 105K are a major tune up with all the fluids changed and a lube. This does get expensive. You can break it up into several blocks of time and spread the related service items out over a few months to take some of the sting off.
