No light on gauge needles

I was installing a remote start system on my girlfriends 2004 Malibu. After the install the remote start worked, but the gauge needles would not light up. I have since disconnected the remote start and have reconnected to the factory specs. I have checked all the fuses in the trunk and in the passanger fuse panel, none are blown. I have replaced the entire cluster and no change. Can anyone give advice?

your cars antitheft system is trying to prevent the car from being stolen so it is shutting it offf after it starts. go back over step by step you installation instructions make sure the ring around the ignition that comes with the remote starter is taped into the exact loacation it needs to be, or the cars own anti theft system will not notice it and will try to shut car off. its an anti theft feature. if this doesn't wotk you will not be able to use this remote starter. i ran into the same problem finally got it to work poperly.

My ex girlfriend had a factory installed honda remote strt on her vehicle. It was activated by hitting the lock button two times in succession. Some vehicles use a combination of the lock-unlock buttons. try using some combinations on the remote, many "oem" remote starts are installed by aftermarket installers so who knows what they did as a start function, it could also have been changed by the previous owner.

Temperature Gauge goes halfway up after a matter of minutes then goes higher. Then won't start

If a 12 year old car is overheating, the owner might want to have the cooling system checked. the correct amount of and type of coolant in the radiator. no leaks anywhere in the system. radiator cap and water pump working correctly belts are in good condition and with the correct tension. Engine block thermostat working properly and in good condition. No obstructions in the engine block or radiator. All the hoses are good and not leaking.

97 malibu theft light killing my car

The theft passlock is shutting your fuel off try this Put your key in turn it on dont start wait 10mins take key out wait 10seconds repeat 3 times total 30mins. If that dont work try another key do the same process. If this dont work a new ignition switch needs installed by a dealer because reprogramming is needed.Or You are right you can install a bypass switch bulldog.com will tell you how or take it somewhere where they install remote starts and they can do it

Factory remote start on 2004 Malibu Maxx stopped working

Fixed!!! I had several problems with my wife's remote start/lock/unlock/trunk/ panic. First it stopped working, i replaced the battery to find out that the battery holder inside the remote had broken solder at two points. Went to Harbor Freight bought a solder gun for $5 and solder wire for about $2. Once home i soldered the points back together (first time i've ever soldered anything). Put the new battery in and it didn't work. I pulled the whole thing apart and took the circuit board and touched the contacts where the button would have pushed at with a piece of metal. They locked and unlocked the car. So i knew at that point that the rubber thing was jacked. i got some tin foil and 5minute epoxy. Then i clued little tiny squares on the little black Nipples where they would contact the circuit board. Waited 6 minutes and put back together. Found out that if you start the car twice with out puting the key in the ignition you can't use the remote start. After putting the key in the ignition and starting it you reset the system and can remote start again. Dealer wanted 114 for the key remote and 54 to reprogram the remote to the car. I fixed my factory remote for under $20. Hope this helps someone
