Hi, the oil filter is located on the underside of the engine next to the oil drain plug usualy black in colour, hope this helps. regards mark.

Depends on the engine, if its a M62, its under the hood, torwards the front drivers side. 9e6fcd7.jpgIf it a N62, it is on the underside of the vehicle, next to the oil drain plug. Its the black plastic housing with a 6mm allen bolt in it(thats used to drain the oil out before removal)25e2e14.png

If you removed the camshaft cover, you should probably replace the gasket or at a minimum insure that all bolts are torqued to OEM specification.

SOURCE: resetting service interval bmw 320d

To reset the service interval indicator you need to buy a "Peake" / "Baume" or similar OBDII reader / resetter.

Cost about $150 - $200 ea.

i had a similar problem on my 2002 E46 320d, i put it to BMW who changed the fuel filter and a fuel sensor then hey presto normal service resumed! hope this helps
