Need vacuum diagram for a 1988 ford ranger

I am looking for the vacuum diagram for a 1988 ford ranger with a 2.9L electronic fuel injected engine. The repair manual did not have it and the schematic I found with autozone.com didn't look right but it might be, hard to say. There is no carburetor on the engine and the schematic shows something labeled "carbon can". Where can I find the schematic.

How do I fine the engine vacuum reference tube for the fpr on a 1988 ranger 2.9 L v6 Fuel injection

It will be an intake manifold vacuum tap. Check all the taps from the intake manifold. The fpr hose may be teed off from another hose to another device. Just trace them all down, and you should find it. There would be a vacuum diagram scheme on the emissions label under the hood- see if it is still legible.

I need a diagram for where the vacuum hoses go to on a 1988 Ford ranger 2wd 2.0 carb. the diagram on the truck is no help. And the hoses are no longer there

Check out the autozone.com website and register the truck there. It doesn't cost anything and will give you access to an online repair manual for the truck. The vacuum diagrams should be available there. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Need to know whats the best fuel octane for 88 ford ranger with 2.9 liter v-6 fuel injected engine

Hello!
You can use any brand starting from regular (87) to super or premium (93) depending on your budget. Lower octane gives you usually lower gas milage and can cause problems with engine starting in winter. So for winter time and better gas milage use medium grade.
Good Luck
