First I would change the thermostat cheap and easy. If that doesn't work your heater core could be clogged (unlikely) also I would make sure the temp lever in your car is actually moving and not stripped. After all those heater core which is tough but I heard not to bad in those cars

I think its the actuator. The switch won't flip to heat when I turn the knob. It used to click/grind to heat then a/c, vice versa, now it does nothing but a/c.

My air conditioner on 2007 suzuki reno blow hot air

it will need service,
check pressures.
hot air as in heater on, so turn off the heater,
test in pure A/C mode Cold.
when both A/C and heat are on this is called defrost mode
which adds cold dry air to hot air and dehumidifes the hot air and window.

My heater and air conditioner shut on and off

The air conditioner is controlled by in cab air temperature so if the air temp is low then the ac compressor clutch will cycle as the thermostat switches it on or off. If you want it to work all the time you may have to run the heat as well so that the thermostat is fooled into thinking that the air temp is hot.. Have the system checked out by an auto electrician

Heater blows cold air

the electric motor that open the heat door looses electrical connection there by the door stays on cold / it is located under the a/c heater assembly / which requires removing the whole dash and heater assy// also bleed all air out of coolant system
