My 2006 Volvo S80 has been flashing multiple error messages, including brake failure stop safely (just has brakes and rotors replaced), transmission service requested. Took to 'authorized' Volvo shop they first replaced the immoblizer antennae ring - no help. They then downloaded new software - helped for 2 days. This morning again another transmission service requested message and this makes car pull when accelerating also th dash controls like the D when in drive and rpm and mph, water temp gauges 'zero out'. what is going on?

I would start with something simple like a load test on the battery as it apparently does not have enough current stored to run the CPU properly. IN the AM I would think that you would have the lights on and these drain any excess current from the battery. Check the alternator for correct out put and check drive belt tension and condition as a slipping belt will be the cause of the faults.
it means stop car brake failure! all the lights come on to get your attention. that year car has multiple electrical and software problem that only the dealer has the equipment to fix it. off to volvo you go
having the same problem with my 1999 s80 2.9 . replaced the abs module twice and still get the brake failure warning. when the ignition key is turned there is a clicking sound from the center console beneath the shifter, then the brake failure warning, and the car will not start. (also after the last abs module replacement the car sometimes gets stuck in park).
most likely your brake light. Also if no brake lights are out, volvo is notorious for putting the wrong bulbs in from the factory. If they work take them out, if they have an orange bottom inside the buld replace the bulbs. I used to be a volvo tech. I would replace both so you dont run into this problem again
